[Bug 320085] [NEW] Synaptic Package Manager shows URI instead of URl

2009-01-22 Thread natewiebe13
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synaptic

When downloading packages, in the status window the columns are
"Status", "Size", "Package" and "URl". My guess is that the URl is
actually supposed to be URL. It's not that big of an issue, I thought it
would be a good idea to correct it though.

[Bug 345082] [NEW] no available updates notification

2009-03-18 Thread natewiebe13
*** This bug is a security vulnerability ***

Public security bug reported:

ubuntu should automatically tell the user if there are updates
available. i dont always check update manager and there should be some
sort of ubuntu telling the user if there are updates available. i also
miss update manager telling me exactly how many updates are available
and when it was last refreshed [even if there are updates available].
I'm marking this as a security vulnerability because if there is a
security update available, and the user does not know about it, there is
a problem.

[Bug 327250] [NEW] jaunty fails to login due to compiz update

Public bug reported:

I just updated jaunty today and compiz was in one of the updates. after
restart, it loaded the background and failed to go further, it just
stays there. If you relogin using a failsafe terminal, and remove

[Bug 320085] [NEW] Synaptic Package Manager shows URI instead of URl

Public bug reported:

When downloading packages, in the status window the columns are

would be a good idea to correct it though.

i can confirm this.. i have used the karmic alpha 2 live disk. i didnt
try this with nvidia's restricted drivers because i couldnt install

just remove it. i have a nvidia 8800gt and a q6600 and it makes my

i can confirm this.. i have used the karmic alpha 2 live disk. i didnt
try this with nvidia's restricted drivers because i couldnt install

just remove it. i have a nvidia 8800gt and a q6600 and it makes my

[Bug 327250] [NEW] jaunty fails to login due to compiz update

2009-02-09 Thread natewiebe13
Public bug reported:

I just updated jaunty today and compiz was in one of the updates. after
restart, it loaded the background and failed to go further, it just
stays there. If you relogin using a failsafe terminal, and remove
compiz, you can then login. so there is something in compiz that makes
the login fail.

[Bug 369969] Re: Volume "already at limit" animation takes too long making it impossible to change volume until it catches up

2009-06-14 Thread natewiebe13
i can confirm this.. i have used the karmic alpha 2 live disk. i didnt
try this with nvidia's restricted drivers because i couldnt install
karmic, but it appears that they took out the glow when you reach full
volume or the fade when you reach lowest. if not, i think they should
just remove it. i have a nvidia 8800gt and a q6600 and it makes my
computer lag.
