[Bug 1743908] Re: MODSIGN: Couldn't get UEFI db list
This is really a nasty one. I installed a brand new machine, did not have any problems. Then upgraded the graphics to nvidia 1070, and started having this same issue. Disabled the secure boot, problem went away, however, fstab mounted my second drive as home, as I had it before, now problem came back and I have no idea what to do. Is it possible to get some workaround to disable this security entirely? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1743908 Title: MODSIGN: Couldn't get UEFI db list To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1743908/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1217189] Re: Buffer I/O error on device zram0 (possibly causing complete machine lockup)
A simple workaround is to blacklist the zram module, and update your initramfs: 1. create a text file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-zram.conf: blacklist zram 2. enter command update-initramfs -c -k all After reboot, the zram module will not be loaded anymore. You can also temporarily unload the module: 1. list swap devices: swapon -s - it should produce output similar to: FilenameTypeSizeUsedPriority /dev/zram0 partition 4102348 55052 100 /dev/sda9 partition 4112604 0 -1 2. now turn off swapping on zram0: sudo swapoff /dev/zram0 3. now that module is not used anymore, it can be unloaded: sudo rmmod zram -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1217189 Title: Buffer I/O error on device zram0 (possibly causing complete machine lockup) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1217189/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm sorry about delay in responding. command: sudo dd if=/dev/scd0 of=/dev/zero the output: 1431796+0 records in 1431796+0 records out 733079552 bytes (733 MB) copied, 160.567 s 4.6 MB/s no errors and no sb_bread e.g. dmesg | grep sb_bread hope this helps. -- Installer cashed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/17 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 199997] Re: Installer cashed
I've reproduced the same issue with desktop 8.04 both 64 and i386 iso images downloaded from 2 different sites (MIT and Canadian) MD5 checks out on all and I've burned them on two different computers and all of them have this very problem. Needless to say that I've wasted a few CDs and a whole day today. -- Installer cashed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/17 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 172937] Re: SQUASHFS error while booting from live cd
I've downloaded 8.04 desktop i386 and 64 twice (from MIT today and from Canadian mirror yesterday) and checked MD5 sum and all 4 matched. I've burned them using two different Windows machines. None of iso works and all of them report the same error ...SQUASHFS ... unable to read page... and I've been trying to install on two different computers started yesterday and I'm now giving up. Oh, and all CDs report problems with between 10 and 18 files. What's interesting is that when I run check repeatedly it reports different number of problems every time. Of course, as a developer I'd jump on this to point out that there's a problem with everything else but distribution, so you can close this if you want but also as a developer I can guarantee you that there's a problem with this distribution for I had not a single problem with 7.10 nor with Fedora ISOs and I'm burning a dozen of both CDs and DVDs a week and have no problems at all. As for bad hardware, yeah, right: it works on my box I've heard this one and have to adim used it myself many a time... I guess I'll have to put up a bit more with [EMAIL PROTECTED] Windows... -- SQUASHFS error while booting from live cd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172937 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 199953] [NEW] failed to construct test pipeline for gconfaudiosrc
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.15 Sound card SB Live 5.1 never worked properly with any Linux distribution. I've seen this problem reported in various ways but was never resolved. To put it simply SB Live 5.1 doesn't work. Applications that need capture will not work, e.g. Skype Go to Sound Preferences Device: SB Live 5.1 SB0220 Alsa mixer Try: Sound Capture: Mic Capture Test Error: Failed to construct test pipeline for 'gconfaudiosrc ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile = chat' Spin it anyway you like (yes I've seen various solutions but they don't work) but the simple truth is until this type of basic things fail and can't be fixed by an average Joe, Ubuntu will remain nice try and not more than that. Shame I really want to get rid of Windows and I really like it, but I also really have life and no time for this. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- failed to construct test pipeline for gconfaudiosrc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199953 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
