[Bug 2051720]
Created attachment 306340 dmesg log (In reply to Paul Menzel from comment #26) > @nickolas, from your bug description it’s unclear, if this is a regression, > or if Bluetooth never worked for you. Could you please clarify? > > Please attach the output of `dmesg`. > > Also, please run `bluetoothctl` and share all the output. The issue is still presenting the same as originally reported, bluetooth does not work on boot and requires the reset script I provided before it will start working. The only difference between then and now is that one log is missing. Here are the extra logs you've asked for, the dmesg log was quite long so I attached it as a file: # dmesg (see attached file) (before running the reset script) $ bluetoothctl Waiting to connect to bluetoothd... (after running the reset script) $ bluetoothctl Waiting to connect to bluetoothd...[bluetooth]# Agent registered [bluetooth]# hci0 new_settings: powered bondable ssp br/edr le secure-conn wide-band-speech [bluetooth]# [CHG] Controller A4:B1:C1:D5:F5:24 Pairable: yes [bluetooth]# AdvertisementMonitor path registered [bluetooth]# (In reply to Dustin from comment #27) > This is a regression. It has been broken since 6.5. It worked fine in prior > kernel versions. I believe your issue is different than this one, this issue has been reported starting in 5.16 on the original bug linked that they closed and asked for someone to make a new issue if it was still present. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2051720 Title: Bluetooth Broken In Kernel Versions 6.5+ (Intel AX210) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/2051720/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

kernel: 6.9.1 linux-firmware: 20240510 For me bluetooth still does not work on boot, the timeout error is no longer shown in the logs but without running that reset script the journal will just endlessly repeat these messages and the bluetooth will never work. I think the 'fix' that was put in for this simply hid the issue from the logs and wasn't actually resolved. $ lsusb | grep -i bluetooth Bus 001 Device 007: ID 8087:0029 Intel Corp. The configuration should be retried using dpkg --configure package or the configure menu option in dselect: initramfs-tools tools for generating an initramfs ubuntu@ubuntu:/usr/bin$ sudo dpkg --configure initramfs-tools Setting up initramfs-tools (0.98.8ubuntu3) ... update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated) lzma: Encoder error: -2147467259 dpkg: error processing initramfs-tools (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: initramfs-tools ubuntu@ubuntu:/usr/bin$ cd ../../ ubuntu@ubuntu:/$ sudo rm /vmlinuz ubuntu@ubuntu:/$ sudo ln -s /cdrom/casper/vmlinuz vmlinuz ubuntu@ubuntu:/$ sudo dpkg --configure initramfs-tools Setting up initramfs-tools (0.98.8ubuntu3) ... update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated) lzma: Encoder error: -2147467259 dpkg: error processing initramfs-tools (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: initramfs-tools I then tried to update casper, since I found that that may have been the problem, and was given this output: ubuntu@ubuntu:/$ sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install casper Ign cdrom://Ubuntu 11.04 _Natty Narwhal_ - Release i386 (20110427.1) natty InRelease Ign cdrom://Ubuntu 11.04 _Natty Narwhal_ - Release i386 (20110427.1) natty/main TranslationIndex Ign cdrom://Ubuntu 11.04 _Natty Narwhal_ - Release i386 (20110427.1) natty/restricted TranslationIndex Ign cdrom://Ubuntu 11.04 _Natty Narwhal_ - Release i386 (20110427.1) natty/main Translation-en_US Ign cdrom://Ubuntu 11.04 _Natty Narwhal_ - Release i386 (20110427.1) natty/main Translation-en Ign cdrom://Ubuntu 11.04 _Natty Narwhal_ - Release i386 (20110427.1) natty/restricted Translation-en_US Ign cdrom://Ubuntu 11.04 _Natty Narwhal_ - Release i386 (20110427.1) natty/restricted Translation-en Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com natty InRelease Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com natty-updates InRelease Ign http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security InRelease Get:1 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty Release.gpg [198 B] Get:2 http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security Release.gpg [198 B] Get:3 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty-updates Release.gpg [198 B] Get:4 http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security Release [39.8 kB] Get:5 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty Release [39.8 kB] Get:6 http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/main Sources [85.3 kB] Get:7 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty-updates Release [39.8 kB] Get:8 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty/main Sources [862 kB] Get:9 http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/restricted Sources [14 B] Get:10 http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/main i386 Packages [262 kB] Get:11 http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/restricted i386 Packages [14 B] Ign http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/main TranslationIndex Ign http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/restricted TranslationIndex Get:12 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty/restricted Sources [4,104 B] Get:13 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty/main i386 Packages [1,550 kB] Ign http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/main Translation-en_US Ign http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/main Translation-en Ign http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/restricted Translation-en_US Ign http://security.ubuntu.com natty-security/restricted Translation-en Get:14 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty/restricted i386 Packages [8,986 B] Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com natty/main TranslationIndex Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com natty/restricted TranslationIndex Get:15 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty-updates/main Sources [146 kB] Get:16 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty-updates/restricted Sources [753 B] Get:17 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty-updates/main i386 Packages [422 kB] Get:18 http://archive.ubuntu.com natty-updates/restricted i386 Packages [839 B] Ign http://archive.ubuntu.com natty-updates/main TranslationIndex

[Bug 431177] Re: Dell 5520 Mobile Broadband card is again not beeing detected by NetworkManager 0.8 on Karmic
i had a similar problem, I thought it was a device mounting problem, but for me the answer was simpler than that. check to see that you have modemanager from synaptic. apparently, networkmanager didn't mark it as dependent in this version, only recommended. I get the feeling that evdo devices were not managed through this package earlier... one restart and it took a few extra plug-and-unplug attempts. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/431177 Title: Dell 5520 Mobile Broadband card is again not beeing detected by NetworkManager 0.8 on Karmic -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
