[Bug 763884] Re: empathy automatically renames contacts to vcard nick

2011-12-15 Thread nicoduck
This does not only affect Ubuntu, Fedora (F16) is also affected, so I think
it's a problem with Empathy or Telepathy.
It's not always the nickname of the vcard:

I have contacts without a vcard, then it's sometimes the username of the JID,
sometimes the whole JID.
Some contacts remain at my chosen alias, some others not. Some have the
nickname field filled out with the nickname, some with the JID. Others have
also filled out the Full Name field in the vcard, which also kind of effects
this I believe.

But: if a contact gets renamed automatically, the result is always the
same. If a contact is renamed to his JID, he will always get renamed to
this, never to his nickname or something else (until he changes his
vcard maybe).

I will try to analyze this problem a bit more next week, maybe with some
test accounts.

[Bug 772301] [NEW] UMTS Modem not working in 11.04

2011-04-28 Thread Nicoduck
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to (k)ubuntu 11.04, my UMTS USB Modems stopped working.

The syslog attached is captured with a Huawei K3765, other Huawei modems behave
similar (e.g. the E160)
There is no difference in trying it with KDE or Unity/Gnome
Booting another kernel did not help either.

[Bug 567636] Re: mumble stops responding when try to connect to server

2010-07-06 Thread nicoduck
Same problem here. Mumble worked great from ppa and stopped working after
upgrade to 10.04.
I use 64 bit, a friend with 32bit is not affected, maybe a 64-bit only problem?

running through the audio vizard didn't work for me, mumble started
hanging after clicking on next after the device selection (maybe it
couldn't connect properly to pulse? )

[Bug 539708] Re: /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftoraster failed

2010-04-27 Thread nicoduck
i have the same problem, but only when printing more then 3 pages:
i printed a pdf, set it to print 2 pages on one sheet of paper and the printer
stops after the third sheed of paper (6th page in pdf)
then selecting page 7-12 works without problems (printing 7-14 stops after page
12) - always printing 2 pages on one sheet of paper

syslog always says
Apr 27 13:09:08 xaser kernel: [58984.827174] gs[30796]: segfault at
7fffe5fb11c0 ip 7fdcac2edd55 sp 7fffebe10168 error 4 in
libgs.so.8.71[7fdcac154000+511000]

only the positions are different (where the segfault is)
I have a canon pixma ip4200 printer using CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.5
