[Bug 1021517] Re: Xorg-server crashes reproducible with GIMP usage

2013-05-03 Thread nicolas cornette
I'm experiencing the same bug in Ubuntu 12.04 precise since I have
upgraded from xserver-xorg-lts-precise to xserver-xorg-lts-quantal, I'm
using Nouveau nvidia driver.

My xserver crashes each time I click into an image with a tool :
selection or paint...

Gimp works when I'm running gimp outside gnome with openbox for example

[Bug 1021517] Re: Xorg-server crashes reproducible with GIMP usage

2012-07-11 Thread nicolas cornette
Gimp is unusable because of this bug in the xorg server.

xserver every time I try to use Gimp, it is very easy to reproduce :

1. Open an image with gimp
2. click onto the image with any tool (example : paint or selection)

then it crashes with this error :
gimp: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.

please help.

[Bug 681752] [NEW] [IBM T42] Can't resume after suspend

2010-11-26 Thread nicolas cornette
Public bug reported:

On my IBM thinkpad T42, Ubuntu can not resume after suspend since upgrade to
maverick, even after kernel update
Ubuntu 10.10
Ubuntu 2.6.35-23.40-generic 2.6.35.7
Closing my laptop -> suspend mode
Opening my laptop -> freeze with that message on terminal :

[ 1132.933121] pm_op(): pci_pn_resume+0x0/0xa0 returns -16
[ 1132.933124] PM: Device :00:00.0 failed to resume async: error -16
[ 1134.595729] hub 3-0:1.0: over-current change on port 1

I also have random freezes sometimes 2 mins after booting, no mouse
responding, don't know if it's related.

[Bug 372189] Re: file-roller waits 25 seconds before opening "create archive..." dialog

2009-05-07 Thread nicolas cornette
I also have a 25 seconds delay when I'm running file-roller manually
through command line :

$ file-roller --add ./PDF/

there is no disk load during the operation, and the PDF directory is
empty... I don't know what is causing the delay in file-roller because
it doesn't display any message.

I also have this delay with this command (I don't know if it can help) :
$evolution mailto:""?attach="file:///home/nic/Bureau/ODRHTCMAGIC.pdf";
running both file-roller & evolution directly (without argument) is OK, delay
appears when passing a file . . .

Maybe this bug is not related to file-roller so I'm about to test
more...

Ok it works great with the guest account, but is there a way to fix?
it's strange because there is no cpu/memoty/network charge during this
delay. what happens during these 25 seconds?

[Bug 372189] [NEW] file-roller waits 25 seconds before opening "create archive..." dialog

2009-05-05 Thread nicolas cornette
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: file-roller

Ubuntu : 9.04 Jaunty
file-roller : 2.26.1-0ubuntu1
Into nautilus "create archive..." context menu, file-roller waits 25 seconds
before opening, it is reproducible every time on every file or directory, for
example an 20kb .ods, a 600kb pdf or sample Images directory. Even if I launch
it multiple times, the delay is the same : 25 seconds. My computer is a 1,7 Ghz

[Bug 246584] Re: can not save podcast preferences

2008-07-15 Thread nicolas cornette
thank you for registering the display bug into podcast preferences.

The problem of writing podcasts on a fat32 filesystem seams to be more
serious (Note that I have write permission on it...), do you want me to
create a new bug report for it?

[Bug 246584] Re: can not save podcast preferences

2008-07-14 Thread nicolas cornette

With my other computer, default settings :

1. create new podcast
2. enter the URL : http://rss.futura-sciences.com/fs/podcast
3. Dbl click on the first stream : download OK
4. go to podcast settings, set download location to /var/tmp
5. Dbl click on the second stream : download OK
6. I exit Rythmbox
7. I go back to Rythmbox
8. go to podcast settings, download location displays my home directory instead
of "/var/tmp" but files are still downloaded to "/var/tmp"
9. go to podcast settings, set download location to /media/data100 (fat32)
10. Dbl click on the second stream : download FAILS, status is "waiting"
forever, the directory isn't created for this podcast.

As you can see, there is in fact two problems that are not related (as I
thank in my first post) :

1. After opening Rythmbox, podcast preferences always displays my home
directory, however the path I set in the previous session is used in the back
end to save files.
2. Setting a download location to a fat32 partitions seams to prevent Rythmbox
to save file (or create the directory for the file). In my first post i was
also using a fat32 partition to save my podcasts.
