Tx Ashton Tribe does the job, so now the liveCD is running. from there minor problems wit kubuntu, can't download Firefox. error with packages missing, but it will probably be solved from the team. Best Niels So suggests this bug to be closed as solved: Tribe 5 does the job Ashton Batty wrote: > Neils, have you tried the daily livecd yet, or at least Gutsy Tribe 5 livecd? > 7.04 definitely has problems with the Santa Rosa platform. > > -- initial installation of livecd and installation halts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Evan Found this on a openSuse page: > If you see a complete BLACK SCREEN for more then 5 min then that means > openSUSE is not using the correct way of detecting devices. Re: [Bug 138186] Re: initial installation of livecd and installation halts
hi Evan after /casper.log a message shows up: casper.log permission denied so no acces there. tried to write help after the promt and a lot of commandoes show up. Have installed the ubuntu on my old HP Pavillion ze 8500 without problems, and now I have a Zepto 6625WD 5000$ laptop and now Ubuntu won't install at all :). Tried too to download Kubuntu live CD and my screen just turns black. Just wonder what is job control, and how does one turn it on ?? since the error message says it is turned off. could this be a bios thing ?? [Bug 138186] initial installation of livecd and installation halts
Public bug reported: just bought a laptop Zepto 6625WD with Intel 2duo CPU T7700 2.4GHz inserting and starting ubuntu 7.04 liveCD, the menu page shows up, I select 1 menu with install ubuntu, next screen with the orange line shows up after some time the proces stops and an error message shows up: /bin/sh: can't acces tty; job control turned off (init ramfs) have downloaded and burned a new copy with same result, using the cd on my older laptop doesn't give this problem. Wonder if it has something to do with the new Intel Santa Monica generation ??
