I've been able to transfer files to my network drive through cifs.

sudo mount -t cifs -o username=guest,guest,vers=1.0 //1.10.2.1/folder

[Bug 1768996] Re: Nautilus "Software caused connection abort" when copying file from smb share

2018-11-30 Thread niniendowarrior
I have a similar issue but some slight differences. For example:
gio copy file.log smb://1.10.2.1/folder/
gio: file:///home/user/file.log: Network dropped connection on reset

When I copy, I get this error. On an old Linux Mint, I had the same
issue and rolling samba back to 4.3.9 fixed it.

My hard disk is connected to a D-Link DIR-636L.

[Bug 1584740] Re: Libreoffice impress hanging and high cpu on slide operations

2017-10-13 Thread niniendowarrior
Just want to add insight that removing libreoffice-gtk* does make
Impress usable. However, I run into issues where sometimes the
graphical rendering of the UI and some of the edits are glitched and
don't refresh correctly. This happens when I have the Impress window go
maximize.

[Bug 1068404] Re: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade

2013-10-31 Thread niniendowarrior
@kpijarski and @vuanomarco

That bug is the right one. There is no workaround. The developer at
AMD I spoke to several months back also expressed skepticism in having a
fix for that. The only way I could get the second monitor to work is by
using mirror mode which is absolutely useless. I'm now on open source
radeon drivers which work but the power management stinks, but what can
I do? I have not experienced the waking up issue with the second
screen, but for what its worth, I don't think it has anything to do with
the cable.

[Bug 1068404] Re: Low graphics mode in muxless hybrid ATI/Intel GPU systems after fglrx upgrade

2013-09-21 Thread niniendowarrior
Hi Marco,

13.9 is supposedly based on an older fglrx driver according to this
post: http://devgurus.amd.com/message/132

I will not be filing a bug on Ubuntu as I don't use fglrx-updates
package from Ubuntu. Last time I tried those drivers on 12.10, the
results were disastrous.

[Bug 365300] Re: Randomly I get double clicks when I do a single click.

2011-06-26 Thread niniendowarrior
This was happening to me too and it started all of a sudden. This was
crazy as the double clicking made the system virtually unusable. I'm
not sure about this as I have no real explanation, but after I unplug my
crazy logitech mouse (which works on Windows) and put it back to the usb
port that I most frequently inserted it in, the problem seemed to go
away... or at least, it was greatly reduced. Don't know nor think it'll
help anyone else.

I can confirm Cedric's fix works. I think the problem is that the

I tried 3 DVDs now called coasters. 1 of them stopped with an
input/output error which was caused by DVD speeds higher than 2x. Two
of them were coasters due to the fixating problem.

My drive is a writer included in my laptop, Acer Aspire 5920g. I'm not
sure of the exact make on this. I suppose I could do dmesg in a few
minutes.
