I am not experiencing this error once I installed Ubuntu 12.04. I

The error I am experiencing is something different. I am sorry for my previous comment. The bug I experience is as that if I reject EULA then also the package is marked as installed. I ran the command sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer and declined the EULA . I have attached the screenshots. I rerun the command but I am getting output "ttf-mscorefonts-installer is already the newest version". But actually it is not installed. It is not taking me to EULA page to accept it. Not only emapthy. Ubuntu-one is also not connecting behind a proxy server. I think the proxy problem is going to kill Ubuntu if it is not solved. Public bug reported: Empathy is unable to connect behind the proxy servers whatever way we try. It doesn't utilize the proxy settings given globally to the system. There is no proxy option in the program also. I tried connecting to empathy from Ubuntu 11.10 in three systems behind a proxy server and in all cases it failed. I tried all of the following but none worked: 1. Changing settings with gconf-editor ( Walk down the tree to system -> http_proxy . Search for use_http_proxy and check it. ) Even after doing that there is no change in behaviour of empathy 2. gksudo gedit /etc/bash.bashrc export http_proxy=http://proxyhost:port/ export ftp_proxy=http://proxyhost:port/ save and exit This also didnt help anything 3. Using tsocks and editing its config files also. In that case the result was: "tsocks dbus-launch empathy" fails to retrieve the accounts list. "tsocks empathy" launches empathy, but it is unable to connect.. Public bug reported: My processor usage remains very high (~100 %) almost all the time in Ubuntu 11.10. I was using 11.04 earlier and updated to 11.10. Due to this condition I formatted the root partition and installed Ubuntu 11.10 freshly (my home folder is in different partition and it was untouched). I have startup programs but I have been using them in earlier versions without any problem. I tried changing to Unity 2D, Gnome, Gnome (No effect), Lubuntu but the processor usage is very high. Its not a hardware problem as everything is fine in Windows 7. Everything was working fine till Ubuntu 11.04. Please tell me the solution for this problem. This is continuation of comment #3 apt-get also doesn't work. Its failing to download many of indexes saying that main, universe, multiverse repositories are not found. But I can download the packages to a directory from bowser and put all dependencies in a folder and run 'dpkg -i *.deb' to install it. Also I am able to install packages that are listed in synaptic package manager directly via apt-get and synaptic. Public bug reported: The Ubuntu Software Center 4.0.4 is not be working on my 11.04 x64 (2.6.38-10-generic) after update . It goes to the "get software" section and lists the various categories, however upon clicking those categories, it shows the little pin-wheel as if its loading, though it stays on that pin-wheel indefinitely. The same thing for when I use the search box. It is also doing the same thing for the "installed software" section. In addition, it there is no sign of the additional repositories that I have added either. [Bug 803040] [NEW] Cannot Update or install packages in ubuntu 11.04
Public bug reported: I am using ubuntu 11.04 and I am unable to install packages from the universe multiverse main extras. I have enabled these repositories but while reloading package information it is telling a Hashsum mismatch. [Bug 436701] [NEW] Doesnt detect Keybord and Touchpad in C702TU
Public bug reported: I am running on Ubuntu 9.10 upgraded from jaunty jackelope. My system model is C702 TU of hp-compaq. On certain boots it doesnt recognises my keyboard and touchpad. My power button works and I could shut down the system after 60s. On next restart it drops to a command shell and says filesystem contains errors. I have to run fsck manually and fix it. Next reboot will be ok. I am running on ubuntu and after an upgrade it fails to boot to the gui.
