I tested with Jaunty and it seems that is the problem is fixed.

After more searching, i found that Ubuntu 9.04 uses the unreleased ati
catalyst 9.4 linux drivers that dropped support for R500 chipsets,
including x1950.

In Ubuntu 8.10 x64, fails to bring up Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4 on-board
Realtek 8111D.

When the pc is powered off, the on-board nic enters power save mode.
Upon power up, the kernel Realtek 8111D driver fails to bring up the onboard 
nic.
The only way to bring up the onboard nic is to completely shutting off power  
from 
PC for 30 seconds and then immediately power on the pc.

The kernel i am using is powerpc 2.6.27-11-generic.

The kernel i am using is 2.6.27-11-generic. (not powerpc
2.6.27-11-generic :P)

I am experiencing high cpu usage with skype when i have voice conversation,
I am using Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit with latest updates.
The skype package i am using is 2.0.0.72-0medi.

My soundcard driver is snd_hda_intel and skype is configured to use pulseaudio.
The problem arises also when i am making the test call, skype reaches 195% cpu
usage (my system has a quad core i7 920).

catalyst 9.4 linux drivers that dropped support for R500 chipsets,

In Ubuntu 8.10 x64, fails to bring up Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4 on-board
Realtek 8111D.

When the pc is powered off, the on-board nic enters power save mode.
Upon power up, the kernel Realtek 8111D driver fails to bring up the onboard 
nic.
The only way to bring up the onboard nic is to completely shutting off power  
from 
PC for 30 seconds and then immediately power on the pc.

The kernel i am using is powerpc 2.6.27-11-generic.

The kernel i am using is 2.6.27-11-generic. (not powerpc
2.6.27-11-generic :P)

I am experiencing high cpu usage with skype when i have voice conversation,
I am using Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit with latest updates.
The skype package i am using is 2.0.0.72-0medi.

My soundcard driver is snd_hda_intel and skype is configured to use pulseaudio.
The problem arises also when i am making the test call, skype reaches 195% cpu
usage (my system has a quad core i7 920).

catalyst 9.4 linux drivers that dropped support for R500 chipsets,

In Ubuntu 8.10 x64, fails to bring up Gigabyte GA-EX58-DS4 on-board
Realtek 8111D.

When the pc is powered off, the on-board nic enters power save mode.
Upon power up, the kernel Realtek 8111D driver fails to bring up the onboard 
nic.
The only way to bring up the onboard nic is to completely shutting off power  
from 
PC for 30 seconds and then immediately power on the pc.

The kernel i am using is powerpc 2.6.27-11-generic.

The kernel i am using is 2.6.27-11-generic. (not powerpc
2.6.27-11-generic :P)

The above log files where taken when the nic-card was operating.
