[Bug 1275314] Re: freezing

2014-02-03 Thread NM
Its been happening for a while now and there seems to be no way I have
found to reproduce it.

I only have to hard reset using power button to bring it back up.

Since the problem occurred, I have applied all possible updates from the
software center and still it persists.

After some suggestions online - i have also removed the nvidia drivers
entirely and problem still exists.

Random freezes of the machine only when using linux. I have a dual boot
with windows - which never crashes. (yes, surprisingly).

I have tried looking through, system messages and other logs but havent
found anything to point to what causes the freeze.

[Bug 448148] Re: After booting the pc from the suspend state, keyboard is not working

2009-10-16 Thread nm
it's for a Karmic. In Jaunty you should create

echo -n "i8042" > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/i8042/bind

[Bug 448148] Re: After booting the pc from the suspend state, keyboard is not working

2009-10-16 Thread nm
I have the same problem on Acer Aspire 5020. After suspend sometimes
keyboard is not responsible at all.

Putting following file in /etc/pm/sleep.d/90-keyboard and making
runnable fixes all the problems :)

#!/bin/bash

. /usr/lib/pm-utils/functions

case "$1" in
hibernate|suspend)
# Do stuff on hibernate or suspend
;;
thaw|resume)
# Do stuff on resume
# reset keyboard controller
echo -n "i8042" > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/i8042/unbind
echo -n "i8042" > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/i8042/bind
;;
*)
;;
esac

exit

default icons.

They are just sit there without invading your mind :)

The classical look Human icons much more "aggressive" and standing out

[Bug 379572] [NEW] Removable media icons for mounted and unmounted state are too similar

2009-05-22 Thread nm
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

Icons for removable media for mounted and unmounted state are quite
similar.

The only difference is a green dot appearing on a left side of drive,
when media is mounted.

I think it's better to change USB iconic picture to the green background
when successfully mounted.

This will give more visual clue, especially if you have not a perfect
vision :)

Also having something RED in a status bar, while it functions properly
and in fact IS mounted - annoys a little bit.

Things which feel OK inside the computed should be painted in green :)
things which fail - should be red.

Just a small usability issue, but I think it comes thru all the versions
of the diskmounter applet

It should be feature request/wish, but I cannot find proper place to
report it as a wish :)))

[Bug 132808] Re: the installer crashed, when I arrive to preparing disk space. when I choos manually (radio button) and next !!!

2007-08-23 Thread NM
It looks like this is a problem with the KDE version.
http://linuxmint.com/cassandra-kde.html says:

There is a known bug in this release: In the installer, the partitioner
will ask you how you want to partition your drive. if you choose
"Manual" the installer will crash. This is a bug in the KDE frontend of
the Ubiquity installer. You can either use the "Guided" option or if you
need to manually partition, use the Gnome frontend instead:

To solve this problem, open a terminal or a konsole and type:

sudo apt-get install ubiquity-frontend-gtk
sudo apt-get remove ubiquity-frontend-kde
sudo ubiquity
