Confirm the bug for Ubuntu Lucid. It also doesn't record sound and mouse
pointer either. Will try XvdiCap.

[Bug 447728] Re: [Lucid] Laptop only remains DPMS off for 2 seconds

2011-01-20 Thread noddeat
I confirm this bug for Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid, laptop HP NX7300 with Intel
video card. When I kill gnome-power-manager, it seems to work.

So, should I just replace gnome-power-manager by xfce-power-manager?

[Bug 401497] Re: wrong keyboard layout after upgrade with autologin

2009-11-27 Thread noddeat
that was an issue for me too. I applied the layout settings systemwide
(Preferences -> Keyboard -> Layouts -> delete USA layout and press
button "Apply system wide") and it now works: even in gdm the default
keyboard is Polish, not USA.

my /etc/default/console-setup looks as follows:
$ grep X /etc/default/console-setup
# values as the XkbModel, XkbLayout, XkbVariant and XkbOptions options
# in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
XKBMODEL="pc105"
XKBLAYOUT="pl,ua"
XKBVARIANT=",unicode"
XKBOPTIONS="lv3:ralt_switch,grp:lwin_toggle,grp_led:num,nbsp:level3n,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp"

and settings in GNOME:
$ gconftool-2 --get /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd/layouts
[pl,ua  unicode]

[Bug 194526] Re: "Use keyboard LED to show alternative layout" doesn't work at all

2008-11-04 Thread noddeat
The fix is described here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/180237/comments/6

you have to modify xorg.conf by hand.

What about Ubuntu 8.10? Do you confirm the bug? AFAIK, there is no more
xorg.conf in Ubuntu, so I'm afraid to upgrade.

Thanks a lot!

For me it solved the problem with fullscreen mode of evince reported here:

The flicker doesn't appear any more!

[Bug 229757] [NEW] [Hardy] First weekday set incorrect in gnome-calendar

2008-05-12 Thread noddeat
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu Hardy gnome-calendar displays Tuesday as the first weekday in
uk_UA locale. In Ukraine and neighbouring regions where Ukrainian is
spoken, Monday is the first day of the week.

I propose the developers to set the values of first_weekday and
first_workday to 1 in /usr/share/i18n/locales/uk_UA

first_weekday 1
first_workday 1

Then gnome-calendar will display the first weekday correctly.

If you are uk_UA locale user, you may manually edit
/usr/share/i18n/locales/uk_UA and then run under root:
$locale-gen
$killall gnome-panel

The solution was taken from here:
http://soniahamilton.wordpress.com/2008/02/06/change-first-day-of-week-
in-ubuntus-gnome-calendar/

[Bug 180237] Re: [Hardy][regression]"Use keyboard LED to show alternative layout" does not work

2008-05-03 Thread noddeat
Workaround:
---
The problem can be solved by manually editing x.org.conf :

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier  "Generic Keyboard"
Driver  "kbd"
Option  "CoreKeyboard"
Option  "XkbRules"  "xorg"
Option  "XkbModel"  "pc105"
Option  "XkbLayout" "pl,ua(unicode)"
Option  "XkbOptions"
"grp:lwin_toggle,grp_led:num,lv3:ralt_switch"
EndSection

grp_led:num - for Numlock, grp_led:scroll for ScrollLock and
grp_led:caps for CapsLock. It now works for me. But it's not good that I
now can't change keyboard LED behavior from gnome-control-center.

Another problem (maybe related to this one) is when I press NumLock key
on my laptop, the LED doesn't turn on (but the numpad changes its
behavior).

[Bug 225453] [NEW] Keyboard LED doesnt switch while layout switching in Ubuntu 8.04

2008-05-01 Thread noddeat
Public bug reported:

Hello,
I have two keyboard layouts installed: Poland and Ukraine Unicode. Polish
layout is the default one. I use left Win key for layout switching. I use the
option: “Use keyboard LED to show alternative layout ” -> “Numlock shows
alternative layout”.

The problem is: NumLock LED (actually, neither Numlock, nor CapsLock
nor Scrollock) doesn't switch on (doesn't change its status) when i
switch the layout. This problem has happened after upgrade from Gutsy to
Hardy. It worked well for Gutsy and Feisty.

I will attach any additional informatio which will help to solve the
problem if you tell me which one is needed.

Thanks from the mountain :-)
