[Bug 1202754] Re: update-manager crashed with SystemExit in exit(): 0
Regarding this bug (1202754) and bug 1272776 (labeled a duplicate of bug 1237569) - my experience in both cases delay in entering the password results in a hiccup. Delaying password entry for an update results in the update manager falsely reporting that it is out of action; the requested update will go on to completion without problems to the next step - requesting a restart or reporting the system as up to date. Delaying password entry in the startup window results in no response to the hardware keyboard or the mouse until, for example, clicking on the speaker icon twice. Bringing up the on screen keyboard works to enter a password, as well as clicking the onscreen keyboard access icon twice and entering the password via the hardware keyboard. Running Trusty Tahr, last updated at ~1715 (Zone -8) on 07Mar2014 nvsoar -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202754 Title: update-manager crashed with SystemExit in exit(): 0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntukylin/+bug/1202754/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1281362] Re: [Gateway GT5628] suspend/resume failure
20Feb2014 - ~1800 (Zone -8) Tested linux-image-3.14.0-031400rc3-generic; both before and after the software update process. Mainline kernel did not fix this bug on the (Gateway) GT5628; tag= 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. (Don't really know how to enter a tag.) Comment - The Gateway 5628 seems to have some odd behaviors - coming out of suspend the computer restarts, the monitor does not come out of the sleep state, and their is no response to keyboard (non-usb connection) or usb connected mouse. Other oddities are - it is not possible to enter a password using the hardware keyboard until (for example) the audio icon at the upper left is clicked on and off; the update manager will advise a crash and all the while keep working to completion; it typically whines about udisks; and it does not power off on shutdown (restart ok). Some of these behaviors (udisk and shutdown) occur over multiple Ubuntu versions. Trusty Tahr is installed on an external drive. When operated on a "trusty" 8 year old Dell XPS400, the suspend feature works properly (- no hitches on other things either). When operated on an HP6600f, the suspend feature does not come out with an active GUI; a terminal can be accessed. nvsoar -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1281362 Title: [Gateway GT5628] suspend/resume failure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1281362/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1272776] Re: Log in sceen does not respond to keyboard password input
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1237569 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1237569 Added - Rebooted following initial report - no response to keyboard or onscreen keyboard. Hardware keyboard then responded following deactivation and reactivation of onscreen keyboard entry on one character. Unable to comment on duplicate status - this report submitted since keyboard input was unresponsive. [Bug 1172836] Re: 13.04 - icon disappeared from the Unity menu after changing position
Some icons have disappeared from launcher bar and system settings. The links exist, Cold reboot does not change situation. Launcher bar missing icons are system settings plus five mounted drives. Testing performed on two Ubuntu 11.10 installations without a printer configuration installed. Opened the printers window manually, after turning on the printer, and inserting the usb plug of the Belkin cable. The query "lsusb" reported the presence of the cable. Printer connection choices were "URI" or several types of Network connections; in one instance there was also an "LPT#1" choice. The "/Model" choice that worked (and still does), offered with the "ppa" CUPS version, did not exist. Entered the URI that resulted using the ppa CUPS version; result - the printer state on attempting to print a test page was "Processing - Waiting for printer to become available.";or something close to that. nvsoar 17Jan2012 ~0100GMT -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/910272 Title: USB->Parallel adapter produces crappy device URI and CUPS "usb" backend cannot cope with it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/910272/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It took seven whole minutes to download and install; shorter than it took to print the test page.
