[Bug 1064394] Re: User already logged in error message sometimes, after login fails

2013-01-05 Thread ochatard
This bug affects me since I upgraded to Quantal.
I am using Xubuntu, with gdm 3.6.1 (64bits version).

It happens each time I previously entered a wrong password or I pressed
the Cancel button .

This bug has been reported in other distribution :

2012-08-18 Thread ochatard
Sorry, I said oneiric instead of precise.
I have precise on both computer : the 32bits one and the 64bits one.
It seems raw1394 works fine on the 32bits, and does not exists on the 64bits ...

Re: [Bug 501494] BootDmesg.txt

2010-01-30 Thread ochatard
I know that, but if I upgrade the kernel, my nVidia graphic will not run
but in low graphic resolution mode.
This is not a choice, if i have to choose either high graphic mod with
no sound, either sound with low graphic resolution mode !
Regards,
Olivier Chatard

 Please note that you're using an outdated (Jaunty's) kernel in Karmic;
this configuration is known to cause issues. Most likely you need to
update your grub configuration and run update-grub by hand. Please
 see the Karmic release notes.

As I explained before, this is not a choice, since I can't upgrade
without loosing the use of my graphic card
If you close it, I will open another one , because I do not see what
else I can do.
:o
Olivier Chatard

It means that, despite the bug -- which isn't in alsa or pulseaudio --
being explained to you, you haven't updated to karmic's proper kernel.
Until you can reproduce the symptom using a karmic kernel, we're
 closing the bug report.

[Bug 474917] Re: nvidia drivers 185.xx compile into kernel 2.6.28 instead of 2.6.31 on update from jaunty to karmic

2010-01-12 Thread ochatard
My graphic card requires the nvidia-96 driver and seems to the same trouble,
even after upgrade to the latest 2.6.31-17 kernel.
The only workaround I found to be able to run in high resolution is to run the
old 2.6.28 kernel, but then, ALSA sound package is no longer working, so the
issue to choose between sound and low-resolution graphic mode or no sound and
high resolution graphic mode : is that a choice ?

[Bug 407180] Re: Firefox 3.5 needs language packs

2009-08-12 Thread ochatard
Status changed to wishlist ???

Do you mean not being able to use the package in your native language is just a
wish ?
Remember Most people around the world do not speak English !

Just 2 points :
- Mozilla delivers Firefox 3.5 with localization, so why not with Ubuntu 9.04,
why Jaunty users should wait for Karmic release to get their local language ?
- there is a work around provided in Bug #370863, why it is not suggested here,
as #370863 is said to be a duplicated of this one ?

[Bug 407180] [NEW] no local language in shiretoko

2009-07-30 Thread ochatard
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

I installed ubuntu 9.04 in French on my computer.
When i wanted to upgrade firefox to 3.5 version, using Synaptic, the only
version I've able to install is a US-only version, on which it is impossible to
install any localized language pack (ie langpackXX.xpi file).
I do not understand as when i go to mozilla.org site, it says me I should
download and install the French version.
Why Ubuntu is not able to just do that ?

Olivier
