[Bug 171579] Re: Make inkscape remember dialogs window status

2010-03-04 Thread ogro
I add my vote to the fray...
Mostly because I can't get the windows back to the docking area. I wanted to
try both settings to see if it would work and the windows that were undocked
the last time will now not go back into the dock regardless of the setting in
the Inskcape preferences... I tried dragging it to the dock are without joy..
now I have the Fill and stroke, align and Layers undocked and the doc
preferences and transform are docked which is definitely NOT how I want to have
it.
Another annoyance is that the Inskcape preferences window becomes a tiny window
with barely anything visible on the first run of the day. After resizing it and
as long as I don't restart the comp, the Inskcape pref window opens to a tiny
square and then thankfully it resizes itself just slow enough to let me see the
tiny window make its appearance...

Other than that, I'm loving it!!! :D

Thanks a lot.

(running Ubuntu 9.10 fully updated, Inkscape 0.47pre4 r22446, built Oct
14 2009)

[Bug 436014] Re: Nodes overlap if a long node is above another

2010-03-03 Thread ogro
The overlap happens to me as well and it only does happen with sibling
nodes that are direct children of the root node.

[Bug 436724] Re: lock screen doesn't work

2010-01-29 Thread ogro
Same problem here... Clean install to 9.10 from 8.04, 4 weeks ago. Everything
up to date. No auto-login. Screen saver and option to lock screen when
Screensaver active are both enabled.
(current system: Kernel 2.6.31-17, Gnome 2.28.1)

Indicator : clicked on Lock Screen... Nothing happens
Ctrl+Alt+L: Nothing happens
Lock screen Panel applet: added to panel, clicked, nothing happens. (Note: when
selecting this applet's properties the Screen saver options pop-up).
Dbus command suggested above: run with screen saver enabled and lock option
checked, not worked, output: [$ dbus-send --print-reply --reply-timeout=100
--dest=org.gnome.ScreenSaver / org.gnome.ScreenSaver.Lock
Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.ScreenSaver
was not provided by any .service files]
Main menu Lock screen option: clicked, nothing happens.

Don't know what else to try...

Thanks in advance for the hardwork...

[Bug 459586] Re: Karmic: OV2640 Webcam no longer works (Inspiron 1520)

2010-01-01 Thread ogro
Just reporting that I had similar issue...

I upgraded (with a clean install) from 8.04 to 9.10 last week... the
first 2 days my webcam (OV2640 on Dell Inspiron 1720) worked fine with
Skype and for no apparent reason it just stopped working. Skype would
place a grey box where my camera view should be and there was no light
indication that the webcam was on. When opening the Skype video menu it
said No device found for the webcam. Today, out of the blue, I checked
again with Skype and it is working fine again... all I have done since
then and now, has been to type lsusb in the terminal to find the model
number.

Noob question follows:
Could it have something to do with the webcam software/driver not being fully
released on shutdown?
