[Bug 1706803] Re: mate-indicator-applet-complete crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()

2018-06-03 Thread oldrocker99
My indicator applet vanished and couldn't be reloaded, which disabled
sound completely. I use my laptop to perform a college radio show, and
this made it impossible today. Fortunately, the station has a computer,
so I used YouTube to play the Kinks live.

Still...

[Bug 1755933] [NEW] The 'grub-pc' package failed to install

2018-03-14 Thread oldrocker99
Public bug reported:

This has happened before with earlier versions. I am installing, things
are going swimmingly, and then I'm told that the grub installation has
failed, and without it, the computer will not boot. No kidding it won't
boot.

This is a recurring problem I have had with Ubuntu MATE. and it may well
indeed pop up on other flavors of Ubuntu.

I consider this a serious bug.

/opt/majesty-gold/ revealed nothing. Inasmuch as this is, as I feared,
the LGP version, it won't run without the keyfile.

I purchased Majesty Gold Edition 2012-10-17, and still am getting the
"not available for your Ubuntu version" message, after a couple of
software-center upgrades. My current version is 5.4.1.3. For something
that was a committed bug, this is getting a bit irritating. I only want
the game I purchased; if I'd bought it from Desura, I'd be able to play
it.

When will I be able to download the game I PAID for?

I have no idea what caused this bug. I was downloading from USENET and
noticing some very low d/l speeds when the crash report popped up. I
wasn't playing any audio.

This is being submitted as a new bug since I did not see any Toshiba

I got burned by ATI and Jaunty and am upgrading from Intrepid. I got a
system crash when I started Synaptic, also.

The configuration package exited and retured this error message:

E: timidity: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
E: exult: dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

I'm trying to find the exult.cfg file; haven't found it yet...
