[Bug 1969274] Re: openvpn client no longer connects in 22.04

2022-04-21 Thread Oleksiy Degtyar
Hello,

I also encounter this problem after upgrade from Ubuntu 21.10 to 22.04.

1. I setup openvpn server on my router (Asus AX88U) at home.
2. I exported the config to *.ovpn file and imported that to openvpn client via
gnome-network-manager; I did same on my smartphone.
2. Being outside home, I use 4G connection and click VPN Connect in the right
upper corner menu.
3. There is a message pop-up in the notification area that "Activation of
network connection failed"
4. it worked perfectly in 21.10 and it works now on my Galaxy S20+.

[Bug 1383184] Re: Atheros Qualcomm Killer N1525 Wireless-AC [168c:003e] not supported

2015-06-10 Thread Oleksiy Markovets
@Jane Doe: I faced same problem with touchpad, but I suspect that the problem
is newest
kernel version. It doesn't work with Debian Testing (kernel 3.16) but works
with Debian Stable
and Ubuntu 14 ( kernel ~ 3.2). And it still works on Windows for me.
In #137 Mahi mentioned that he some how solved this problems, but no
information on how
he did that.

you fixed touchpad problem? I'm using debian testing with kernel 3.16 so

[Bug 1101156] [NEW] libpango1.0-dev unusable for static builds

2013-01-18 Thread Oleksiy Protas
Public bug reported:

The package has two problems using it with static builds:
1. It doesn't pull the required libthai-dev and libselinux1-dev.
2. The libpangoft2 library is only provided in the non-dev package in shared
form, the static one is missing from the -dev package.

[Bug 1101156] Re: libpango1.0-dev unusable for static builds

2013-01-18 Thread Oleksiy Protas
Thanks for response.
It certainly does not make it unusable
That just breaks the scheme of things for me, most of the packages ship statics
with -dev packages while pango ships only a part of it, making static linking
against it nonfunctional.

in which distribution is it not?
12.04.01 LTS, precise.

[Bug 581936] Re: [Lucid]Sudden drop of connecton speed (iwl3945 Broadcom issue)

2010-08-26 Thread oleksiy
Looks like setting a fixed rate on the _router_ fixes the problem for
me. While it is set to 'auto' the connection speed drops to 1mb/s after
some time but since I set it to 36M fixed on my dlink router the speed
remains fast. Setting fixed rate with iwconfig didn't work. Looks like a
rate control algorithm problem in the driver, but who knows.

p.s. i got dell latitude d830 with intel 3945, ubuntu 10.04 with
backports enabled

[Bug 478149] [NEW] White windows after resume from suspend, Karmic 9.10

2009-11-08 Thread oleksiy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

After resume from suspend some of the programs that were running before
lid was closed received white windows. They can be moved, closed, even
it looks like they are completely functional but just white. Screenshot
attached. This happens with both Nvidia versions available (173 and 185)
while both were working fine on the same laptop with Ubuntu 9.04. Tried
installing backport-modules - the same.

[Bug 391461] Re: Compiz broken on Karmic with NVIDIA driver and CPU without PAT support

2009-10-17 Thread Oleksiy Lukin
Forget to say that nouveau driver does not work at all on my Asus A6
causing kernel memory oops but somehow worked in Fedora 11. On Karnic
after re-installing nvidia-glx-185 glx extension module of xorg loaded
but GL support itself does not work correctly in composite mode. The
same situation with 190.x.x beta driver. The same situation with Fedora
11 last updates I had on notebook week ago. I tried almost every variant
available but composite opengl mode does not work.

So it is common problem, I guess, and the roots of problem is kernel.
My notebook video worked perfectly until last kernel updates until May
of this year. At least in Ubuntu Jaunty it worked perfect.

[Bug 391461] Re: Compiz broken on Karmic with NVIDIA driver and CPU without PAT support

2009-10-17 Thread Oleksiy Lukin
Finally found solution and compisite is fully functional.
Solution is to disable PAT support in kernel command line.

Edit file /etc/default/grub and add:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=nopat

Then run update-grub as root and reboot.

Well, as I said, problem is in kernel PAT support for my Intel Pentium M
(Dothan) [B-1]

[Bug 409795] [NEW] evolution mail aliases regression

2009-08-06 Thread oleksiy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Problem happens since upgrade to Evolution 2.27.5 (Ubuntu Karmic)

I had had an email, say olek...@.com and an email alias account
supp...@.com, emails for both accounts were going into single imap
account. In Evolution I had set up two email accounts, one, the default
one is olek...@.com, and second is the supp...@.com, which had
the receiving server set as NONE.

Then, when I was hitting the REPLY button on the incoming email which
had TO:olek...@.com Evolution was setting the correct outgoing
account (olek...@.com), and when I was hitting the REPLY on email
which had TO:supp...@.com Evolution was automatically setting the
correct outgoing account to supp...@.com.

Now, that doesn't happen, Evolution always sets the outgoing account to
olek...@.com and I had to switch the outgoing account manually.

[Bug 346562] Re: bluetooth pulseaudio segfault

2009-03-27 Thread Oleksiy Y. Ivasyuv
I reinstall Ubuntu to x86 from x86_64, but bug still present.
I found that my bluetooth headphones work good without pulseaudio server, via
ALSA.

$ ps ax | grep pul
11361 pts/1S+ 0:00 grep pul
$

So I don't need to define output device. If bluetooth headphones is turn
on - sound go over them.

$ cat .asoundrc
pcm.bluetooth {
type bluetooth
device 00:02:78:DE:09:43
profile a2dp
}

But after little playback any application crash. I test it with rhythmbox and
banshee. See attached logs.
The problem is in ALSA driver.

Following on my 2 previous posts: both network cards are working again
now (from morning). Again nothing changed/installed. I guess the reason
was in presence of some unsupported wirelless network nearby and some
scanning bug in drivers. I've reported this issue here:

2008-11-05 Thread Oleksiy Kokachev
Dear Mario.
I think it's a good idea to mark fglrx-driver and xserver-xorg-video-ati as
conflicting packages. Installing of xserver-xorg-video-ati should automatically
remove fglrx-driverand vise-versa, because these packages replace files of
each other, thus they are conflicting.

Re: [Bug 283836] Re: Unable to load module fglrx: cannot allocate memory

2008-10-23 Thread Oleksiy Kokachev
You can use ATI open-source driver, but You should completely remove fglrx
driver.
They have some overlapping files and fglrx driver replaces ati driver files.
So You should just do the followinf things:
1. sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx*
2. sudo apt-get remove --purge xserver-xorg-video-ati
xserver-xorg-video-radeon
3. sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-ati

That's all. In my case it helped (ATI mobility radeon 9600)
Good luck.

LC_ALL=ru_RU.UTF-8 gcalctool will result in huge window
LC_ALL=C gcalctool will result in normal window sizes

[Bug 212143] Re: Crash on start with saa7134 and 2.6.24-15-generic

2008-05-22 Thread Oleksiy Lukin
The same thing with Philips Semiconductors SAA7134/SAA7135HL Video Broadcast
Decoder (rev 01)
not only with Ubuntu kernels. On my Fedora 2.6.24, 2.6.25 tv card works but
freezes system randomly.
I think it is bug of saa7134 module.

GDM restarts on first boot if you enter your login details correctly and
it DOESN'T restart if you will make an error in your password for
example - GDM will tell you that username/password is incorrect and
after filling them again you will log in successfully.

Ethernet on both ends.
If I use port forwarding using -L option - connection does not die.
It happens only when I use ssh tunnel.

Maybe it is related - keyboard speed settings are reset to defaults
after each system power on. E.g. gnome-keyboard-properties shows
sliders in correct position, but keyboard speed doesn't match them until
I move them slightly left-right.

[Bug 210743] [NEW] Use keyboard LED to show alternative layout not working

2008-04-02 Thread oleksiy
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 8.04 - last update 02.Apr.2008

I've used Scroll lock LED to indicate alternative layout in Gutsy, but
after upgrade to 8.04 this LED indicator is not working any more. I've
tried to reconfigure X server from scratch (e.g. create new xorg.conf) -
nothing.

I'm using Right Alt button to switch layouts (EN-RU) and gnome-keyboard-
properties to configure layout and keyboard options.

yes. It's still there.
How can I resolve that?
Now I temporary switched to using ssh -L portforwarding (and it's
working good), because it's really frustrating
to restart tunnel 5-6 times a day.

[Bug 185524] ssh tunnel dies unexpectedly several times a day

2008-01-23 Thread Oleksiy Kokachev
Public bug reported:

Dear all.
I have a problem: my ssh tunnel works fine for a while (this time varies from
minutes to hours) and then just stops to forward packets in one direction.
I tried to google this problem, but didn't find the solution.
Detailed description:
I have Gutsy on both machines. Machine A - is client, machine B - server. My
/etc/network/interfaces files looks like this:
Machine A:
iface tun0 inet static
pre-up echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
pre-up ssh -f -w 0:0 machine_b_ip_address 'ifdown tun0; ifup tun0'
pre-up sleep 5
address 10.0.0.1
pointopoint 10.0.0.2
netmask 255.255.255.0
up route add -net 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 10.0.0.2 tun0
down route del -net 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 10.0.0.2 tun0
Machine B:
iface tun0 inet static
pre-up echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
pre-up sleep 5
address 10.0.0.2
pointopoint 10.0.0.1
netmask 255.255.255.0
up route add -net 10.88.171.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 10.0.0.1 tun0
down route del -net 10.88.171.0 netmask 255.255.255.0 gw 10.0.0.1 tun0
I start tunnel using sudo ifup tun0. Then everything is working for some time.
When it stops to work, I found out, that tunnel does not forward traffic from
machine B to machine A, while traffic from machine A to machine B
is forwarded correctly. Network device tun0 on machine B just stops
transmitting the data.
Also I noted, that it happens more frequently, while transmitting big amount of
data.
Please, help me to fix that. It's really borring to restart tunnel so often.

[Bug 150388] Cannot switch keyboard layout in KDE after upgrade from Feisty

2007-10-07 Thread Oleksiy Kokachev
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-bin

I got a problem with KDE after upgrade to Gutsy.
I use Kxkb to switch keyboard layouts in Feisty and it worked just fine. But
now it does not work.
When I press Ctrl+Shift to switch layout to russian, icon in system tray is
changed, but layout is not switched. Even thought icon displays russian layout
I still type in english.
If in terminal I directly execute setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout ru -variant
winkeys, then I can type in russian.

Also I tried to set it up using xorg.conf by specifying additional
layout and disable layout switch in kxkb. But situation is the same:
KKBSwitch displays correctly russian layout, but I still type in
english.

How can I fix that?

P.S. In Gnome everything works fine

[Bug 150388] Re: Cannot switch keyboard layout in KDE after upgrade from Feisty

Dear all.
I tried to downgrade the version of kdebase-bin package to
kdebase-bin_3.5.6-0ubuntu20.4_i386.deb(from Feisty) and It helped: layout
switching works.

Then I tried to install new verison from gutsy repository and problem
appeared one more time. That means, that bug exists between Feisty and
Gutsy versions.

Can anybody fix it? I can provide any details/logs, which You may need.
