[Bug 1242115] Re: Black window borders, black terminal

2016-09-11 Thread oriman
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1292830 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1292830

I hate to bump up a 3 years old issue, but I have it on Ubuntu 15.10 and I
can't find a fix.
It happens all the time, not only after boot.
Tried both Compiz and Unity - on Compiz the entire window is black. On Unity,
it has black borders.
I have a presentation tomorrow, and it's 3am now and I still can't fix it :(

Might have happened after update, I should remember to never update but
it's too easy to comply...

[Bug 613886] Re: No preview on file upload after installing Flash

2012-12-30 Thread oriman
This still wasn't fixed by Adobe, after a year.
As this issue is a major lack in flow and user experience, and it affects any
program that uses file browser,
I would suggest adding an options pane that allows enabling the preview pane,
and changing the view (icon/list).
This is a major user-experience bug, because of facebook - whenever I upload an
image I need to memorize the picture numbers.

[Bug 224539] Re: Failed to lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock

2011-05-29 Thread oriman
It effects me as well with Ubuntu 9.04.
The Update Manager offers me [Partial Upgrade]. I click it, wait for the
downloading to finish, and get a screen that offers me to [Start Upgrade]. I
click it and immediately receive this error message.

I tried to run the Update-Manager as root but got the same error.

A [Retry] button would be good, allowing me to try and remove this lock
before the Update Manager starts to undo all changes.

Is there a work-around?

Me too.
On Dell Studio Laptop,

I'll try downloading the DVD version as suggested here, but it would

[Bug 667453] [NEW] formula from .doc looks bad and visa versa

2010-10-27 Thread oriman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Saved in Word, viewed by OOo
My university uses MS-Word 97/2003 .doc files with formulas.
When I open the .doc file with OOo 3.1 I cannot see all formulas correctly -
some characters or codes are turning to ?
Here is a screenshot:
http://yfrog.com/nescreenshot077gp
The language is Hebrew.

The other way is also problematic:
A document saved by OOo 3.1 and viewed by MS Word 2007 shows similar problem:
Some characters are turning into -?-

Do you want me to make a list of all the specific chars/codes?
