I have the same issue, but with xfonts-base 1.0.0-4

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure xfonts-base

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -al /usr/lib/X11/fonts/

drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 2007-07-09 15:29 ..
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo mkdir /usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -al /usr/lib/X11/fonts/
total 12
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2007-07-09 15:46 .
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 2007-07-09 15:29 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2007-07-09 15:46 misc

when I try to configure xfonts-base I get the 2 warnings. If I check
that folder indeed it doesn't exist. If I manually create it, I still
get one warning and even more the misc folder is deleted.
Any suggestions?
