[Bug 883370] [NEW] Tomboy breaks Unity on Logout
Public bug reported: It looks like Tomboy breaks unity. It is not possible to logout anymore if Tomboy runs, no matter if you run Unity 2D or 3D. Here is what I did: 1. Login Ubuntu 2D or 3D 2. Start Tomboy 3. Try to Logout While Tomboy is running, you cannot Logout / Reboot / Restart your machine anymore. Only restarting X-Server allows to leave session. It was confirmed on 11.10 Live CD, x32 x 64 fresh install with all updates. [Bug 568492] Re: Fonts corrupted on Openoffice menus and Lotus Notes 8.5 with nvidia, compiz, twinview and subpixel smoothing.
Confirm this bug using Nvidia + TwinView + Compiz. Turning off Compiz makes the fonts appear nicely. Ubuntu Lucid 10.04.1 nvidia: 195.36.24 compiz: 0.8.4 oooffice: 3.2.1 Sorry for ranting, but Compiz sucks hell. Just test Compiz 0.8.6 from the official ppa (ppa:compiz/ppa) and the bug still exists. -- Fonts corrupted on Openoffice menus and Lotus Notes 8.5 with nvidia, compiz, twinview and subpixel smoothing. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568492 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

is there any workaround for that so far? This is a really annoying bug (as many many other :). [Bug 187540] Re: Gnome-panel freeze when 8 windows are open when the panel is vertical/non-expanded horizontal
@Зоран Рилак This seem to be a different problem, as the gnome panel freeze in this bug is due to the window list application. Moreover the whole panel crashes and a panel restart is necessary. I suggest you try to look for a similar bug related to the launcher application. [Bug 43066] Re: Window list behaves bad when panel is vertical.
It is unbelievable that this bug is still existing! That it what makes Linux so uncomfortable to use for most of the people, lots of cool and innovative features but it seems that most of them are poor implemented and buggy. Not only that, the bugs are not getting fixed were it appears to be easy. I am using Linux now for a couple of years now and have a vertical panel in gnome for quite some, this bug is really annoying and should be addressed soon - priority high -, as it is a really fundamental problem. By the way, I am using the gnome-panel-fix script described here http://www.osfight.de/archives/92 (in german), which worked so far for me on 8.04 - 9.04. -- Window list behaves bad when panel is vertical. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/43066 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
