Public bug reported: I have been having continual lockups both with hardy heron 8.04 and 8.04.1. Most of the freezes are random. This happens with a fresh install or update from gutsy. I can force a freeze by drag and drop. When the lockup occurs I have mouse but nothing else and I must hard kill. No keyboard function. I noticed that my external modem still functioned while downloading during a freeze. I am also having difficulties installing proprietary nvidia drivers. The lockups are occurring without using the proprietary drivers.
