[Bug 632540] [NEW] Chyba v překladu update- manager

2010-09-07 Thread Pavel Řehák
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-pack-cs

V překladu Správce aktualizací pro Maverick je v řetězci 116 věta "Stahování
souboru %li z %li při %s B/s". Pokud je konečná část "%s B/s" takto rozdělena,
vede to k roztržení jednotek, např. 3 041k B/s. Tato část by měla být
dohromady, tedy "%sB/s", což by dalo 3 041kB/s.

[Bug 622197] Re: Mistake in the logic puzzle "Age"

2010-08-22 Thread Pavel Mikhalyev
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gbrainy
+
+ Affected version: 1.50

"John's age is nowadays 2 times his son's age. 18 years ago, John was 5
times older than his son. How old is John's son nowadays?"

Gbrainy says that correct answer is 40 (on the attached screenshot), but
it isn't true. If nowadays John's son is 40, then John is 80 (2x). 18
years ago John's son was 22 and John was 62 (2.8x, which is incorrect
  statement).

Puzzle can be solved, using simple equation. Let son's age nowadays will
be x, than John's age will be 2*x. 18 years ago: 2*x-18=5*(x-18). From
  this x=24. Nowadays, John's son is 24 and John himself is 48 (2x), 18
years ago John's son was 6 and John was 30 (5x).

Correct answer must be 24, not 40.

[Bug 620072] Re: gpredict crashes on TLE update network or local files

2010-08-19 Thread Ing. Pavel Milanes Costa
Crash persist only on local files updates with the ARRL TLE format.

Working fine with a network update on a more fast connection (1.5Mbps so
much fast than my 33kbps)

Still working arround to find cause/solution.

[Bug 607703] Re: The Adobe Flash plugin has crased

2010-07-20 Thread Pavel Petrenko
Yes, this error is re-producible always.

Few times (~ 2 times, from infinity attempts) I was seen Flash, but I not know
- why.
This take place, between my efforts again and again reinstall Flash and switch
on\off Shockwave Flash.

One moment:

Before my update Ubuntu from 8.04 to 10.04,
when I was use 8.04:
FireFox + Flash - work fine!!! Without error.
but Google Chrome + Flash - works exactly same WITH ERROR (with exactly same
error in log).

but after update Ubuntu from 8.04 to 10.04,
the situation in mystic switch:
FireFox + Flash - works WITH ERROR.
but Google Chrome + Flash - work fine!!! Without error.

P.S.: I'm not sure what this FireFox or Ubuntu error.
Both FireFox and Ubuntu - are excellent. May be this kernel error (for
example), but I'm use generic:
2.6.32-24-generic (without reconfigure and re-compile).
Simple I don't know where to find decision or workaround.

[Bug 604360] [NEW] Symbol `__kmp_test_then_add_real32' causes overflow in R_X86_64_PC32 relocation

2010-07-11 Thread Pavel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

Dear Ubuntu friends

I installed Mathematica 5.2 on Ubuntu 9.10 and I get these two error
messages:

MathKernel: Symbol `__kmp_test_then_add_real32' causes overflow in
R_X86_64_PC32 relocation
MathKernel: Symbol `__kmp_test_then_add_real64' causes overflow in
R_X86_64_PC32 relocation

but then Mathematica runs O.K.

Can someone please explain what it means and how to avoid it?

My uname -a gives
Linux pavel-laptop 2.6.31-20-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 12 04:38:19 UTC
2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[Bug 204202] Re: gnome-terminal ignores current keyboard layout for ctrl+key shortcuts

2010-06-12 Thread Pavel Grishkov
I must admit I've spent huge amount of time figuring out what had caused my
Ctrl key to behave in such inconvenient way as described here :)
And eventually I see many people in Gnome bugzilla claiming it may be useful to
keep it as is. It definitely have to be fixed and work as user expects it to
work. No surprises should be allowed.
A perfect example of reproducing Ctrl-C failure (from Gnome Bug 599894):
setxkbmap us,ru -option grp:caps_toggle /* works nice */
setxkbmap ru,us -option grp:caps_toggle /* we get "яс" symbols instead of
sending SIGINT and SIGSTOP */

Please work with GNOME developers to fix it.

[Bug 433654] Re: [Karmic]&[Lucid] Only one user has sound; no hw shows in Sound Preferences

2010-06-12 Thread Pavel Grishkov
Well, I really appreciate the workaround proposed by Igor, great job, many
thanks! At least it has made sound to work more predictable.
However, I believe the issue is broader than just playing with the "audio"
group. Since it affects not 100% of users and some of them are used to hear
sound without any problems regardless of logged in users. It should be a clear
root cause stated by developers re: why this has happened.

[Bug 250506] Re: shutdown and restart buttons do nothing

2010-06-01 Thread Pavel Kukacka
I see the same issue as Aswarp reported (the "shutdown problem"), only in
GNOME, both 32bit and 64bit. When clicking shutdown (or restart) in
"System->Shutdown" nothing happens.
Even without any proprietary drivers. And it seems it happens randomly -
sometimes it works and the next day not and the other day it works again.
Strange. Weird.

[Bug 573252] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 crashes

2010-05-15 Thread Pavel
Now I have been using Ubuntu 10.04 with 2.6.34-999-generic 201005081426
and it seems to be stable. My hardware is ASUS N71JA-TY034X (Intel Core i5, ATI
Mobility Radeon HD5730).

The conclusion is:
2.6.31-20 O.K.
2.6.31-21 crashes
2.6.32-21 crashes (the default kernel of Ubuntu 10.04)
2.6.34-99 O.K.

My question is:
how can I modify the Ubuntu 10.04 installation iso image to contain the
2.6.34-999 kernel?

And:
the new kernel makes graphics very slow. How can I return to the old fast
graphics with the new stable kernel?

Thanks for any advice

[Bug 573252] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 crashes

2010-05-09 Thread Pavel
I think the problem was I was using 32-bit Ubuntu 10.04 and I was trying to
install the 64-bit kernel.
Suggestion: a warning would be nice to warn about this.

So I reinstalled the 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 (with the 2.6.32-21 kernel) and
I installed the 2.6.34-999 kernel
(this was difficult because the default 2.6.32-21 kernel crashed 6 times before
I finally got it).

Then I applied all the suggested updates including the 2.6.32-22 kernel.
The 2.6.32-22 kernel crashes too, so now I boot 2.6.34-999, this seems to work.

The only disadvantage of 2.6.34-999 is that moving a window across the screen
is very slow.
I am using ati-driver-installer-10-4-x86.x86_64.run

Can this be fixed?

The conclusion: the default kernel of Ubuntu 10.04 is difficult to use on the
ASUS N71JA-TY034X notebook.

thanks for the advice. So I did this (in a script)

   linux-source-2.6.34_2.6.34-999.201005061008_all.deb
   do
wget $a$i
sudo dpkg -i $i
   done

I got no error messages during this.
Then I clicked restart.
And again I got a blinking underscore in the upper-left corner and nothing more.
Is this the right way to install a new kernel?

[Bug 575124] [NEW] cannot use Dynamic WEP with static IP

2010-05-04 Thread Pavel Golikov
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

When i try to configure wi-fi connection to use dynamic wep and choose
manually assigned ip address in nm-connection-editor, the appy button
button becomes disabled and never enables, no matter what ip address is
filled in. The only workaround i've found is to configure WPA\WPA2
Enterprise connection, fill in my settings there and then change them to
dynamic wep through gconf-editor.

[Bug 573252] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 crashes

2010-05-03 Thread Pavel
The crash seems not to be connected to any particular application as
demonstrated by this experiment:

1. power cable connected
2. Ethernet cable connected
3. Power-on at 8:56 a.m.
4. Ubuntu 10.04 with 2.6.32-21-generic booted
5. Password entered
6. No user input, no key pressed, no mouse action, just looking at the clock
7. Clock stops at 8:57 a.m.
8. Keybord dead, mouse (touchpad) dead.

Ubuntu 9.10 with 2.6.31-20 runs O.K.

[Bug 573252] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 crashes

2010-05-02 Thread Pavel
I would like to add that the crashes of Ubuntu 10.04 are not related to a high
temperature of the computer.
Ubuntu 10.04 with the kernel 2.6.32-21 crashed on a cold computer just 1 minute
after power-on a few minutes ago.

Ubuntu 9.10 with the kernel 2.6.31-21 crashed just 1 minute after the
power-on too.

Ubuntu 9.10 with the kernel 2.6.31-20 seems to be more stable.

[Bug 573252] [NEW] Ubuntu 10.04 crashes

2010-05-01 Thread Pavel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

Dear Ubuntu friends,

I tried to install and run Ubuntu 10.04 but it crashed 3 times in one hour.
First crash was during Install - Prepare partitions - Step 5 of 8.
I turned power off and on. Then I installed Ubuntu 10.04 with no partition
customization, just "side by side" with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10.
Second crash: after opening System - Preferences - Appearance.
Third crash: after opening a terminal window and typing "man fflush Enter".

Each crash is the same: no pointer response, no keyboard response, clock
stops.

My hardware is Asus N71JA-TY 034 notebook with Intel i5 processor no hardware
modification.
Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows 7 work fine.

Thanks for any advice.

[Bug 441330] Re: [ASUSTeK Computer Inc. F5RL] suspend/resume failure

2010-04-29 Thread Pavel Kukacka
Hi,
I'm having the same issue on this laptop, the only differences are: 64bit
system and newer version (today's Ubuntu Lucid). I'm confirming the description
of symptoms - it's the same on my machine; i don't use fglrx.

[Bug 569378] [NEW] pulseaudio multicast audio becomes inaudible

2010-04-24 Thread Pavel Perestoronin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

Both pulseaudio server and client running:

Ubuntu version: 9.10 Karmic Koala
pulseaudio: 1:0.9.19-0ubuntu4.1

I've been trying to get pulseaudio multicast loopback to work. When
sending the audio to the multicast sink and telling it to loopback, the
sound will be fine for about 5 seconds, then pitch and speed of sound
starts changing, then the frequency gets so high that it starts
stuttering because it plays the section of sound too fast.
