[Bug 622197] Re: Mistake in the logic puzzle "Age"
** Description changed: Binary package hint: gbrainy + + Affected version: 1.50 "John's age is nowadays 2 times his son's age. 18 years ago, John was 5 times older than his son. How old is John's son nowadays?" Gbrainy says that correct answer is 40 (on the attached screenshot), but it isn't true. If nowadays John's son is 40, then John is 80 (2x). 18 years ago John's son was 22 and John was 62 (2.8x, which is incorrect statement). Puzzle can be solved, using simple equation. Let son's age nowadays will be x, than John's age will be 2*x. 18 years ago: 2*x-18=5*(x-18). From this x=24. Nowadays, John's son is 24 and John himself is 48 (2x), 18 years ago John's son was 6 and John was 30 (5x). [Bug 607703] Re: The Adobe Flash plugin has crased
Yes, this error is re-producible always. Few times (~ 2 times, from infinity attempts) I was seen Flash, but I not know - why. This take place, between my efforts again and again reinstall Flash and switch on\off Shockwave Flash. One moment: Before my update Ubuntu from 8.04 to 10.04, when I was use 8.04: FireFox + Flash - work fine!!! Without error. but Google Chrome + Flash - works exactly same WITH ERROR (with exactly same error in log). but after update Ubuntu from 8.04 to 10.04, the situation in mystic switch: FireFox + Flash - works WITH ERROR. but Google Chrome + Flash - work fine!!! Without error. P.S.: I'm not sure what this FireFox or Ubuntu error. Both FireFox and Ubuntu - are excellent. May be this kernel error (for example), but I'm use generic: 2.6.32-24-generic (without reconfigure and re-compile). Simple I don't know where to find decision or workaround. -- The Adobe Flash plugin has crased https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/607703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Well, I really appreciate the workaround proposed by Igor, great job, many thanks! At least it has made sound to work more predictable. However, I believe the issue is broader than just playing with the "audio" group. Since it affects not 100% of users and some of them are used to hear sound without any problems regardless of logged in users. Now I have been using Ubuntu 10.04 with 2.6.34-999-generic 201005081426 and it seems to be stable. My hardware is ASUS N71JA-TY034X (Intel Core i5, ATI Mobility Radeon HD5730). My question is: how can I modify the Ubuntu 10.04 installation iso image to contain the 2.6.34-999 kernel? And: the new kernel makes graphics very slow. [Bug 573252] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 crashes
I think the problem was I was using 32-bit Ubuntu 10.04 and I was trying to install the 64-bit kernel. Suggestion: a warning would be nice to warn about this. So I reinstalled the 64-bit Ubuntu 10.04 (with the 2.6.32-21 kernel) and I installed the 2.6.34-999 kernel (this was difficult because the default 2.6.32-21 kernel crashed 6 times before I finally got it). Then I applied all the suggested updates including the 2.6.32-22 kernel. The 2.6.32-22 kernel crashes too, so now I boot 2.6.34-999, this seems to work. The only disadvantage of 2.6.34-999 is that moving a window across the screen is very slow. I am using ati-driver-installer-10-4-x86.x86_64.run Can this be fixed? The conclusion: the default kernel of Ubuntu 10.04 is difficult to use on the ASUS N71JA-TY034X notebook. Public bug reported: Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS When i try to configure wi-fi connection to use dynamic wep and choose manually assigned ip address in nm-connection-editor, the appy button button becomes disabled and never enables, no matter what ip address is filled in. The only workaround i've found is to configure WPA\WPA2 Enterprise connection, fill in my settings there and then change them to dynamic wep through gconf-editor. [Bug 573252] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 crashes
The crash seems not to be connected to any particular application as demonstrated by this experiment: 1. power cable connected 2. Ethernet cable connected 3. Power-on at 8:56 a.m. 4. Ubuntu 10.04 with 2.6.32-21-generic booted 5. Password entered 6. No user input, no key pressed, no mouse action, just looking at the clock 7. Clock stops at 8:57 a.m. 8. Keybord dead, mouse (touchpad) dead. Ubuntu 9.10 with 2.6.31-20 runs O.K. [Bug 573252] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 crashes
I would like to add that the crashes of Ubuntu 10.04 are not related to a high temperature of the computer. Ubuntu 10.04 with the kernel 2.6.32-21 crashed on a cold computer just 1 minute after power-on a few minutes ago. Ubuntu 9.10 with the kernel 2.6.31-21 crashed just 1 minute after the power-on too. Ubuntu 9.10 with the kernel 2.6.31-20 seems to be more stable. [Bug 573252] [NEW] Ubuntu 10.04 crashes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox Dear Ubuntu friends, I tried to install and run Ubuntu 10.04 but it crashed 3 times in one hour. First crash was during Install - Prepare partitions - Step 5 of 8. I turned power off and on. Then I installed Ubuntu 10.04 with no partition customization, just "side by side" with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10. Second crash: after opening System - Preferences - Appearance. Third crash: after opening a terminal window and typing "man fflush Enter". Each crash is the same: no pointer response, no keyboard response, clock stops. My hardware is Asus N71JA-TY 034 notebook with Intel i5 processor no hardware modification. Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows 7 work fine. Thanks for any advice.
