bug reports which seem to be related to the same problem have been arround since 2012: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1040599 other more recent reports are: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1825355 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1896113 In some of the reports a connection to using preformatted partitions is made. [Bug 1955704] [NEW] systemd/plymouth preventing reboot/shutdown
Public bug reported: Plymouth seems to be busy with trying to show a "Halt" and also a "Reboot" screen during shutdown, and in trying to do so preventing the actual shutdown procedure to succeed. It even continues to do so after forcing the shutdown/reboot procedure as can be seen in the attached screenshot. Systemd then continues the show with waiting for an obscure kwin process, which ceased to exist long before. Of course, systemctl doesn't work at this stage any more either, so log files are useless. p.s. after giving the two processes systemd & plymouth several minutes to finish what they were claiming to do, I had tp pull the plug to end this farce. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "IMG_2574.JPEG" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1955704/+attachment/5549487/+files/IMG_2574.JPEG -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1955704 Title: systemd/plymouth preventing reboot/shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1955704/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1505697] Re: subfolders for autostart missing
Thanks for your reply. One comments on this: AFAIU the command you mentioned has to be run once to configure the input method but not every time you want to start up fcitx. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1505697 Title: subfolders for autostart missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemsettings/+bug/1505697/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1505697] [NEW] subfolders for autostart missing
Public bug reported: Trying to manually add programs (e.g. fcitx-autostart) to startup dialog via KDE system settings fails because the ~/.local/share/applications/ folder is missing. If this folder is missing it should be created by the system settings startup dialog or even as generally existing folder at the time of the user's first KDE startup. === lsb_release -rd === Description:Ubuntu Wily Werewolf (development branch) Release:15.10 === apt-cache policy kded5 === kded5: インストールされているバージョン: 5.15.0-0ubuntu1 候補: 5.15.0-0ubuntu1 バージョンテーブル: *** 5.15.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/universe i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: lightdm-gtk-greeter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1505697 Title: subfolders for autostart missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm-gtk-greeter/+bug/1505697/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
