[Bug 1818354] [NEW] Lock screen frozen after big input from keyboard

2019-03-02 Thread piotrekkr
Public bug reported:

Lock screen freezes after big input into password field from keyboard.

Few times I had to hard reset because cleaning service left my
headphones on my keyboard for the night at work. When I got back to
office in the morning lock screen was not responding. I could not clear
password field. could not press anything on keyboard. Mouse was working
but clicking on lock screen interface didn't work.

Wrote a question about this on askubuntu
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1121906/how-to-prevent-cleaner-from-
hanging-my-lock-screen-in-ubuntu-16-04

My OS: Ubuntu 16.04 standard desktop installation, fully updated

How to replicate:

Lock screen
Put something heavy like headphones on keyboard and leave for the night

[Bug 1538615] Re: Cat causes login screen to hang

2019-02-28 Thread piotrekkr
Ok. This bug should be reopened. My lock screen was frozen few times in
last months by a cleaning lady who put my headphones on keyboard when
cleaning my desk, and left them until next morning. Lock screen is
frozen and keyboard or mouse actions do nothing. I wrote about it on
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1121906/how-to-prevent-cleaner-from-
hanging-my-lock-screen-in-ubuntu-16-04

I have version with this "fix" but it does not work.

2012-07-18 Thread piotrekkr
Sorry, didn't know that it was patch only for Super+P. Bug title says
that it's for Super+* and Alt+* , description and many user coments says
that to. I will be really happy when this bug will be fixed. It's not
big problem but quite irritating especially when someone was using this
shortcuts very often for long time in 11.10 and they were working great.

2012-07-17 Thread piotrekkr
I've updated system and now I have gnome-setting-daemon 3.4.2-0ubuntu0.4
. It still does not work. In "system settings -> keyboard -> shortcuts"
I've set Super+C as play/pause for multimedia. When amarok is playing
this shortcut don't work. When I press it shows only grey rounded
rectangle with "no action" image on it
(http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/6431/zrzutekranuz20120718083.png).
What I'm doing wrong?

[Bug 995502] Re: system notifications not working in precise, sometimes start to work after a dozen or so minutes

2012-05-06 Thread piotrekkr
I've just noticed that thunderbird seems to fix notifications in amarok
somehow. I had thunderbird opened for about a half hour now but didn't
get any emails so thunderbird never used system notifications. So I've
send email to myself and waited. After a minute thunderbird downloaded
message and informed me using system notifications. After that also
amarok started to show me info about songs played in system
notifications. It looks like amarok don't start some system service that
shows system notifications and it's using built-in notifications when
there is no service running.

[Bug 994469] Re: amarok does not hide to sound indicator on close but terminates

2012-05-04 Thread piotrekkr
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 992262 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992262

Why it was marked as duplicate? Bug #992262 is about that sound
indicator stops working after amarok close, not about why it don't hide
on close. I've only mentioned that imo it is incorec to terminate amarok
on close and not to hide it in sound indicator. It was my opinion not
so much related to bug #992262.

2012-05-04 Thread piotrekkr
@Myriam Schweingruber (myriam)

I think quick hack could be like this:

In unity after unchecking "show tray icon" just not show icon in tray
but in background amarok would be still working like minimised to tray
and to restore amarok window just select amarok from sound indicator.

Maby it's stupid what I'm writing :) I'm not a linux programmer so I
don't know if it is possible to run amarok in background without tray
icon. Can you tell me if it's possible , and if it is possible , how
much work would it be to change behaviour for unity?

[Bug 994469] [NEW] amarok does not hide to sound indicator on close but terminates

2012-05-04 Thread piotrekkr
Public bug reported:

Hi,

don't know if it's a bug but amarok terminates on close if there is no
system tray icon enabled in ubuntu 12.04. Shouldn't it hide like other

music in background? AFAIK unity abandoned tray icons usage, instead it
comes with indicators. They works quite good with Amarok so why not to
hide under indicator on close?

[Bug 992262] Re: sound indicator not working after amarok close

2012-05-04 Thread piotrekkr
@Conor Curran
Ok indicator works fine now but Amarok still terminates after closing using
close button. I think that I know what is happening. I've first deleted Amarok
(with config files) using synaptic, next I've installed Amarok again. But it
did't help so I've also deleted ~/.kde/appps/amarok and ~/.kde/config/amarok*.
Default settings was applied so there was an Amarok icon in "tray" on start.
When I used close button message was show that amarok will be hidden into tray
icon and it hides on close. But AFAIK in unity there should be no "tray icons"
just indicators. Second thing why use tray icon if amarok is already in sound
indicator? So I've changed settings not to use tray icon. And now Amarok is
terminating on close :( Could it be fixed somehow?

[Bug 994196] [NEW] some global user defined shortcuts not working

2012-05-03 Thread piotrekkr
Public bug reported:

I've upgraded to 12.04 and my custom global shortcuts for multimedia
stopped working. Everything was working great in 11.10.

My settings:

 - previous track
 - next track
 - pause/play

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/1838/zrzutekranuz20120503220.png

I have Logitech UltraX Premium Keyboard which have few multimedia keys
like mute, volume up/down, run default sound player, and play/pause. I
have Amarok as my default player in ubuntu and I've set "Launch media
player" to the multimedia key and it runs amarok. I've also tried
setting "Play (or play/pause)" to my play/pause multimedia key but it
didn't work. Don't know if it is problem with control center or with
amarok, so I'm putting it here, where somebody could look and move to
apropriate package :). I've also tried to look for similar bugs but I'm
constantly getting timeout error on lunchpad.

Thanks for help.
