2014-05-04 Thread pivo
I worked around this issue by clearing the Desktop Manager field in the
LXSession configuration.

[Bug 258801] Re: Gets bogus DNS servers during PPP negotiation

2008-09-17 Thread pivo
I see the notebook only every other weekend :) and I will try wvdial
next time. Right now vodafone-mobile-connect from
https://forge.betavine.net/projects/vodafonemobilec/ is used on the
notebook instead of the network-manager and DNS works all the time. The
vodafone app allows to set DNS manually and I did just that, so may be
that's the reason.

Public bug reported:

When I start dosemu, I get the following, only:

LOWRAM mmap: Invalid argument
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I use latest hardy on 3 different machines (both ix32 and amd64), tried
the console as well as X11, with the same result. The last time I'm
certain it worked was 2008-03-26. Some dependency must have borked

[Bug 185804] Re: [needs-packaging] BadRAM Linux Kernel Patch

2008-03-30 Thread pivo
If I get it right, there's no need for badram patch unless bad bytes are
spread all over the map. With a bit more manual effort one can use
memmap=exactmap parameter already present in current kernels.

A howto for 2.6.25 kernels:
http://groups.google.com/group/fa.linux.kernel/msg/d90e920265afafd8 .

In 2.6.24 one needs to look up the bios provided memory map from the
beginning of the dmesg output. Then convert the map to the memmap=
format and merge with the bad memory block(s) to be reserved.

And last but not least, if it's worth a couple of hundred dollars to
you, if you provide a financial incentive, someone might as well step up
and come up with something that'd serve your needs.
