[Bug 351186] Re: [ubuntu 9.04] slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
Hi everybody, the patch seems to solve the problem. Unfortunatelly I spotted another thing - when playing movie the movie freezes every 5 - 6 mins for just one or two sec. It is nothing really bad, but you would expect the movie to go smoothly. Tested under VLC, Movie player...so the playback is not excelent after using the patch. I use 64 bit ubuntu...somewhere I have read that 64 bit does have some problems with videoplayback... [Bug 358111] Re: [Dell Inc. Studio 1537] suspend/resume failure [non-free: fglrx]
HI, have the same problem. Dell studio 15, ubuntu 9.04, ati drivers (fgrlx), does not resume after suspend or hibernate. Just gives a black screen...but other stuff works, it just not start the screen... -- [Dell Inc. [Bug 351186] Re: [ubuntu 9.04 beta]slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
Thanks a lot to Bryce H. It works fine. There is only one problem - at least on my PC - and that is video playback. When I tried to resize window with video, computer froze. You can solve this by setting video output to X11 rather than default in VLC (if you use VLC)... -- [ubuntu 9.04 beta]slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 351186] Re: [ubuntu 9.04 beta]slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
I tried that, did nothing...after executing sudo patch 107_fedora_... it asks me for sudo password, but then it does not continue...does not write anything... [Bug 351186] Re: [ubuntu 9.04 beta]slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled
Same problem, when I switch effects on (normal or extra) maximising, unminimising, tab switchin became very slow = have to wait 1-2 sec before something happends. For those 1-2 sec computer basically freezes. I have Dell Studio 15 with ATI mobility radeon HD 3450. Open source ati drivers do not solve anything because 3d support for my card is not included. I think this bug really decreases the desktop experience. Otherwise ubuntu 9.04 is simply great! -- [ubuntu 9.04 beta]slow unminimizing with ati card and desktop effects enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351186 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
