[Bug 1018020]

2021-07-17 Thread psychonaut
Still reproducible for me with a Logitech C270 and kernel-
default-5.13.0-1.2.x86_64 on openSUSE Tumbleweed.

A thread on the Microsoft support forum at
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_apps-
insider_video/logitech-c270-audio-
problem/f3cca299-5b3d-42ff-8471-b77520f1a9f4?auth=1 shows that Windows
users are also affected, so this is probably a bug in the webcam
hardware/firmware itself. Still, it would be nice if there were some
kernel-level workaround.

> A patch submission doesn't preclude accompanying discussion anyway

_If_ someone submits a patch or other new, concrete information that
will lead to a fix, _then_ let's discuss it here. Until then, please
see [Comment 1](https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453455#c1)
(though note that the specific venues mentioned there have recently
moved).

As a programmer yourself, it can't be such a big deal for you to submit
a patch that does exactly this. This would certainly be a more collegial
and productive course of action than publically berating others for what
you consider to be "very poor programming".

[Bug 303140]

2021-01-29 Thread Psychonaut
(In reply to Jean from comment #41)
>The size of my mail box is limited and I need to delete some attachments,
>which I cannot currently.

If doing some one-off housekeeping is urgent for you, a fairly simple
workaround would be to use a different e-mail client to delete the
offending attachments. You can install it just for this purpose and
then uninstall it once you're done. IIRC KMail is able to delete
attachments from signed e-mails; probably there are other clients which
also have this functionality.

Since this bug was marked as fixed some seven or eight years ago, there
have been ten reports here of a regression. Could someone with the

[Bug 494067]

2019-09-26 Thread Psychonaut
One of the patches introduced as a result of this bug (namely, the one
that forces setting of the browser.preferences.instantApply to "false")
appears to have broken at least one Thunderbird extension, CardBook. I
have opened an issue for this: Bug 1151186. It would be great if the
folks responsible for the current issue could have a look at the
CardBook one.

(In reply to Dennis Schridde from comment #14)
> Does the import work when using nmcli (`nmcli connection import type openvpn

>
> If nmcli works, I would think this is mostly caused by Plasma NM not using
> the NetworkManager OpenVPN code to import configuration files (bug #396530),
> but implements an own buggy version.

I'm now using plasma-nm 5.12.8. This version has the same behaviour as
described for plasma-nm 5.12.6 in Comment 13: attempting to import an
.ovpn file with inline certificates and keys results in a spurious error
dialog, but the keys and certificates get successfully copied anyway.

I also tried using nmcli. This seems to work without any problems:

$ nmcli connection import type openvpn file ~/vpn/ukp-vpn.ovpn
Connection 'ukp-vpn' (c6cbabfe-f117-4af9-aca5-be9e8c88595c) successfully added.

When I open the NetworkManager plasma applet after doing this, I see the
VPN connection listed there, with the keys and certificates copied into
separate files under ~/.cert/nm-openvpn.

And yet there are plenty of comments here from 2015 to 2018 claiming the
problem still exists. I would prefer to hear from someone who was
experiencing the problem more recently (say, 2018) who can confirm that
it is no longer reproducible.

Lucky you; that workaround did nothing for me.

Is there some sort of bug bounty program for KDE? If so I wouldn't mind
chipping in €20 or so towards a fix for this issue.

2019-04-25 Thread Psychonaut
Is this problem still reproducible in the latest version of KMail?
There haven't been any comments on this bug in over a year; I'm
wondering if that's because the problem has been fixed or because it has
driven most of the user base away. I'd love to return to using KMail
but can't as long as this message duplication problem persists. (I was
getting dozens of duplicated messages every day, which was too much to
put up with.)

[Bug 319376] Re: No Dvorak layout for multilingual keyboards

2016-12-28 Thread Psychonaut
Sergey, I've been using Oleg's Russian "phonetic_dvorak" layout for

However, I think this particular issue can be closed, as the layout
seems to have made it into the official X.Org distribution this year:

[Bug 898390]

2013-09-19 Thread Psychonaut
The problem was still reproducible for me on KDE 4.10.2 through 4.10.5
on openSUSE 12.3. However, yesterday I upgraded to KDE 4.11.1 and now
the display settings are (eventually) correctly applied on login.
However, the process is a bit annoying in that immediately after logging
in, the display settings are incorrect (that is, the relative position
of my two monitors is wrong). It's only after several seconds (and
after several applications already get loaded, and display in the wrong
places) that the orientation gets switched to my preferred settings. So
it's still buggy, but much less buggy than before.

[Bug 133133]

2013-03-12 Thread Psychonaut
I have two systems with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:19.0)
Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0 SeaMonkey/2.16 installed. One of them is
running on KDE 4.6.0 on openSUSE 11.4, and the other KDE 4.9.5 on
openSUSE 12.2. On the first one, Open containing folder correctly
opens the directory using the default KDE file manager, Dolphin. On the
second one, the correct directory is opened using the default Gnome file
manager, Nautilus. No idea why one system correctly uses Dolphin but
the other incorrectly chooses Nautilus.

[Bug 303140]

2013-02-10 Thread Psychonaut
I've created a new report for an issue which is related but apparently
distinct: Bug 838674 deals with removing signed attachments from
*unsigned* e-mails. (The fix suggested in Bug 288273 Comment 6 isn't
applicable, since there's no question of any signature being lost.) If
I'm wrong please feel free to mark it as a duplicate of this one.

On Friday 19 October 2012, you wrote:

I tried to save the corrected display settings in System
Settings/Display and Monitor/Seize Orientation with the following
 steps:
1 Set Primary Output to VGA-1
2 Press the Save as default button
 3 Press the Apply button
4 Press the Accept Configuration button in the pop up window

I just found out that the system saves the display setting if I select
by step 1 None in stead of VGA-1 and execute step 2,3 and 4 as
 described.

Doesn't work for me. I'm using KDE 4.9.2 on openSUSE 12.2 (x86-64).
