[Bug 853671] Re: [Oneiric regression] [RTL8111/8168B] Occasional network problems
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 839393 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/839393 In regards to the network controller dropping the connection every few seconds while connected for Internet Connection Sharing... Open the network connection being used for sharing. In the IPV6 Settings set the Method to "None" to disable IPV6. You shouldn't need IPv6 to directly connect two computers and by disabling it I was able to stabilize my connection to work correctly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/853671 Title: [Oneiric regression] [RTL8111/8168B] Occasional network problems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/853671/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 438000] Re: [i945gm] [karmic] X servers hangs when settings up dual monitor config
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 419328 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/419328 I am having the same issue with a Dell Mini 10 (Model 1011), Atom N230 and GMA 945. I successfully, and without any effort, had Compiz enabled while driving both the LVDS at 1024x576 and the VGA at 1024x768 right of LVDS in 9.04. Today I upgraded to 9.10 via update manager and now have this same issue. Combined width is 2048 which is the max texture size (width) for the 945 chipset. This may not be a bug, but is most definitely a regression because I have lost functionality over a previous version. As mentioned in the other bug, success can be had by arranging the screens vertically: 1. Switch to Metacity (Desktop Effects set to None) 2. Attach external monitor 3. Open Display Settings 4. Arrange external Below LVDS 5. Set proper screen size for the VGA (in my case it's actually 1280x1024) 6. Turn Compiz back on (Desktop Effects set to Extra) This arrangement nets a virtual resolution of 1280 x 1792 which falls neatly inside of the accelerated buffer limit of 2048x2048 on the 945. The problem is, as mentioned, this is a regression from 9.04 (which did let me arrange them side by side) and is spatially difficult to maintain as I don't rest my netbook on top of my monitor as the arrangement seems to make me want to feel. -- [i945gm] [karmic] X servers hangs when settings up dual monitor config https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/438000 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 400390] [NEW] Change default screensaver away from "black screen"
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver 1. Ubuntu 9.04 2. gnome-screensaver 2.24.0-0ubuntu6 On two separate recent 9.04 installations I was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why, no matter what settings I chose, that gnome-power-manager was turning off my screen after 10 minutes. It never occurred to me that the issue was that the default screensaver in gnome- screensaver is the black screen. It gave me no indication that a screensaver was turning on because it didn't look like a screensaver. Changing the default screensaver to something other than black seems the obvious choice. Alternatively, and probably more appropriate - is to bring the gnome-screensaver and gnome-power-manager together under a single interface. ** Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Change default screensaver away from "black screen" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/400390 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 344626] Re: brightness notification moves in wrong direction when increasing after a decrease or vice versa
I am having the same issue as James describes above. Dell Mini 9 with bios A01. Repeatable on 9.04 in both i386 standard and Netbook Remix installations. 1. Pressing Fn-9 to decrease brightness stops at 85% 2. Pressing Fn-0 to increase brightness sets actual brightness at 100% and shows brightness in the OSD as 0%. My only two brightness options are 85% and 100%. I had no issues with brightness controls in 8.10 i386. -- brightness notification moves in wrong direction when increasing after a decrease or vice versa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/344626 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 139226] Re: ipod doesn't appear in banshee
I mentioned GTKPod only as a reference to the fact that it connects and is otherwise readable except by Banshee. For some reason one of the updates that came down on June 5th resolved the issue for me. There was a bunch of stuff in there, not sure which one fixed it. Banshee recognized that it was an Ipod, but it didn't recognize which one and automatically redirected me to the Banshee "add and ipod to our database" page. My Ipod support in Banshee is now resolved and is operating as expected. For fun I tried installing podsleuth-0.6.2 from the link above and I get a mono dependency problem. Looks like Hardy has Mono 1.2.6 and Podsleuth is looking for 1.1.10... [Bug 139226] Re: ipod doesn't appear in banshee
Having the same issue with an Ipod Mini 1st gen. Interestingly I don't and never have had podsleuth installed. At least not to my knowledge. GTKPod does show the correct music on the device. I noticed something else interesting recently. When I upgraded (gutsy->hardy) my IDE drives moved from HDx to SDx. Threw me for a loop why none of my partitions were mounting correctly through fstab. [Bug 124758] Compiz-Fusion "GConf" backend may break keybindings
Public bug reported: I recently installed Compiz-Fusion on my Feisty box and found I was having problems assigning key bindings in CF. The problem is outlined here: http://forums.opencompositing.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=1165 With the CF backend set on GConf I was getting some weird keybinding issues - specifically assigning a key binding [ALT]Button4 to increasing window opacity would not work under any condition. I don't know what/where GConf assigns to [ALT]Button4 but I was obviously not using it and wanted it changed to work how I wanted. However when assigning this key binding it never worked properly for me. By changing the Compiz Fusion backend to Flatfile this keybinding issue went away. I do not know if this issue is recreatable, or it may be randomized. The bug report I am submitting is not specifically about my [ALT]Button4 issue but rather key bindings in general not (randomly) working properly in Compiz Fusion with GConf back end. I realize that CF is not an Ubuntu issue, but CF will be included in Gutsy and I would hope this could be tested out to make sure either the GConf issue is fixed or that Flatfile is selected as the default backend for Gutsy. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Compiz-Fusion "GConf" backend may break keybindings https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124758 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
