[Bug 94017] [Feisty] Wrong xorg automatic configuration
Public bug reported: Feisty on amd64. I tried the restricted drivers manager to enable the proprietary nvidia driver (currently I'm using NV driver). When I tried to enable the nvidia driver, it informed me that xorg.conf was altered previously and that I should Call sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorgto switch back to automatic configuration handling. I did that. It asked me only for driver (I selected nv) and resolution (I selected 1280x800). After restart the screen was in resolution 1024x768. And x keyboard setting was English (I was using Czech). I tried using the nvidia driver. After restart (screen still in 1024x768) I played with Compiz for a while and than I wanted to return to my previous settings (resolution, x keyboard). I replaced the generated xorg.conf with the automatically created backup. After restarting the PC, the resolution and x keyboard were correct but Compiz remained enabled which led to rendering the windows titles over the main gnome panel and some other graphical difficulties. But Compiz could be easily disabled via the menu. Strange is that the nvidia driver, according to restricted driver manager, remained enabled and cannot be disabled without running sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg. The problems are: why isn't the resolution recognized correctly (even though it asked me for resolution), why it changes keyboard and how does restricted driver manager recognize that a driver is enabled and in use? ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- [Feisty] Wrong xorg automatic configuration https://launchpad.net/bugs/94017 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I still have a trouble with jumping to the beginning of a track but it's no longer so obtrusive. [Bug 88514] Re: [Feisty] rhythmbox fails to play a track after a jump to the beginning of the track
Rhythmbox ver. 0.9.8-0ubuntu2. After a deeper investigation it seems to be badly broken. There are problems even in rhythmbox UI. It behaves strangely (both with the panel icon and UI) sometimes it works correctly, sometimes playing the song is resumed after a few seconds and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Running rhythmbox from console didn't reveal any errors but by running it with parameter -d I recorded some suspicious behavior. I enclose to screenshots showing the rhythmbox activity. ** Attachment added: screenshots of console when rhythmbox fails to play a track http://librarian.launchpad.net/6581200/rhythmbox.tar.gz -- [Feisty] rhythmbox fails to play a track after a jump to the beginning of the track https://launchpad.net/bugs/88514 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 86013] Re: [Feisty] Keyboard layout is not indicated
I use two layouts: czech and english. I added the keyboard notification applet (hope it's the right name) to the gnome-panel. The aim was to switch between these two layouts by clicking on the applet notification icon and also to know, what layout is currently active. It worked for the first day, but the other day, I wanted to change the keyboard layout from default czech to english, but nothing happened. The layout was neither changed nor the icon (notification) changed. [Bug 74779] Re: Connection with Static IP - does not work!
The same problem in Feisty on amd64. Setting static IP doesn't work. Any time I close the network settings the changes are forgotten. Even changing back to dhcp doesn't work. The networks looks unconfigured. Network manager helped me get to the connection with dhcp, but I had no luck with static IP. I included the file /etc/networks/interfaces. ** Attachment added: /etc/networks/interfaces http://librarian.launchpad.net/6369700/interfaces -- Connection with Static IP - does not work! https://launchpad.net/bugs/74779 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 83619] Re: [Feisty] cannot change proxy
I wanted to change the settings from using proxy (via automatic configuration) to direct connection. Than I ran aptitude and it was still trying to reach the internet through proxy. -- [Feisty] cannot change proxy https://launchpad.net/bugs/83619 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 83617] [Feisty] headphone muted
Public bug reported: Feisty on amd64, fully updated, there is almost no sound in headphones. Even when I fully increase the volume, it is still too quiet. My sound card is integrated HDA Nvidia. I encountered this problem in Edgy, but it seemed to be resolved in Feisty, now it looks like a regression. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- [Feisty] headphone muted https://launchpad.net/bugs/83617 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 81623] Re: OpenOffice should be updated regularly
To have a new version of OOo every six months is really acceptable, but according to the release plans of Ubuntu, we will have a stable release only once in a year. Dapper (Edgy) Feisty. That would lead to using of a seriously outdated version of OOo if you stick with stable releases. -- OpenOffice should be updated regularly https://launchpad.net/bugs/81623 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 81623] OpenOffice should be updated regularly
Public bug reported: OpenOffice and Firefox are the most important applications. Recently, due to the agreement between Mozilla and Ubuntu, we receive updates of Firefox via Synaptic. It should be the same with OpenOffice. As far as I know, we can expect new release of OpenOffice every two or three monts and it would mean that users of Ubuntu will be always using an old version. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- OpenOffice should be updated regularly https://launchpad.net/bugs/81623 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 81377] crystal icons are missing in openoffice
Public bug reported: Using Ubuntu Feisty on amd64, fully updated system. Tried changing the icon set in OpenOffice to crystal, but nothing has changed. This icon set is probably (somehow) missing.
