I have discovered that executing the command using the a bus message the
segmentation fault error does not occur.

Ex. 
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dbus-launch gdmsetup
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ 

This is obviously not a fix but a sloppy workaround.

Confirmed on Ubuntu Hardy:

100% Reproducible
