[Bug 112518] Re: Switch User freezes at blank screen

2015-10-02 Thread rafe101
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 160264 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160264

still happening occasionally to me with 15.04

This does not appear to be the same as #160264. The steps to reproduce
are different. The resolution is different.

There is no white screen. Switching never gets as far as logging in.
Never is there a point when the white screen (which doesn't exist) goes
away. Hard reset is only solution.

[Bug 1173952] Re: Suspend and hibernate not working in 13.04/13.10 with alx module

2013-10-25 Thread rafe101
I'm not sure if this is the same issue or not.

Entering suspend automatically according to timeout and initiating it
from the menu do not work since upgrading, but I can suspend from the
terminal.

[Bug 864506] Re: Jockey cannot install fglrx driver

Getting this too when trying to change drivers. I'm not getting full
resolution with the normal fglrx drivers--wanted to try updates.

[Bug 831049] Re: no audio

2011-08-23 Thread rafe101
I still can't get any analog audio to work, but when I first log in I
have a few seconds of HDMI audio then pauses in the audio start to
appear and after a few more seconds I just have occasional pops and
bursts of sound.

It is not dead silent. After switching VLC's output device in Pulseaudio
settings to use HDMI, I can get little pops and scratches.

[Bug 831049] Re: no audio

2011-08-23 Thread rafe101
So far I have tried the headphone jack, different speakers in the
speaker jack, headphones in the speaker jack and I just went and bought
an HDMI cable to see if there was anything coming out that way. It is
still dead silent.

[Bug 831049] Re: no audio

2011-08-23 Thread rafe101
Thanks for your help. I am using the onboard soundcard. When I'm
checking levels in the pulseaudio volume apps I sometimes get strange
errors. If I start the volume app then open a video in VLC, VLC will
sometimes say it couldn't initialize a soundcard, but the meters in the
pulseaudio volume app show activity for VLC. If I open VLC first, the
Pulseaudio volume program will often say it has no connection.

I will attach my alsa-info as you asked.
