[Bug 1891680] Re: grub-pc needs to detect when debconf points to invalid drive and stop in preinst, before unpacking files, and also treat this as a failure in postinst
Unfortunately I have switched to Debian 10 meanwhile, so I cannot test the bugfix. Nevertheless thank you for your efforts. I will certainly return to Ubuntu in the future. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1891680 Title: grub-pc needs to detect when debconf points to invalid drive and stop in preinst, before unpacking files, and also treat this as a failure in postinst To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1891680/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1891680] Re: grub-pc needs to detect when debconf points to invalid drive and stop in preinst, before unpacking files, and also treat this as a failure in postinst
Hello Steve, thank you for your explanation. In my case I am quite sure, that my grub was correctly configured BEFORE the upgrade to 20.04. I am starting with an absolutely fresh installation of 18.04 which is working flawlessly and reboots without any problems. I have tried the upgrade to 20.04 with several fresh installations and am always ending up with this grub-pc error. sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc gives me this error: /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: grub-pc is broken or not fully installed I have tried to remove grub-pc and to install it again, which lets me choose the boot disk where grub should be located. This can be done without an error message, but after that my system is in an unbootable state.
Unfortunately, this bug seems not fixed for me. I am using a remote server at 1&1 Hosting with a RAID 1 configuration and logical volumes (LVM). I am starting with a fresh image of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. With do-release-upgrade I can upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, but I am ending with this error: Errors were encountered while processing: grub-pc Exception during pm.DoInstall(): E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) After that my system is unusable. It cannot be updated, no packages can be installed. I can reboot, but when I try to fix the error with re- installing grub-pc it becomes unbootable.

[Bug 515242] [NEW] Ubuntu One doesn't synchronize with my client
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client Since several days Ubuntu One doesn't synchronize with no one of my client computers. After startup it takes me to the Ubunto One website once and again, where I newly register my already registered client machine. Unfortunately, this doesnt have any effect, the Ubunto One symbol in the Gnome Panel shows an exclamation mark and simply doesn't sync. [Bug 72041] Re: Evolution 2.8.1 problems with IMAP
This problem seems to be related to the bug #365715 in GNOME Bugzilla: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365715 -- Evolution 2.8.1 problems with IMAP https://launchpad.net/bugs/72041 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 72041] Re: Evolution 2.8.1 problems with IMAP
Unfortunately, deleting folders in the '~/.evolution'-directory or its subdirectories doesn't help anything. I have tried either (1) to delete selected entries for the mail-accounts in the '~/.evolution'-directory or (2) to delete this directory completely. Nothing worked. The "nameless" IMAP-folder still rests in any IMAP-account. This must be a bug in Evolution which cannot fixed by manipulating the '~/.evolution'-directory. -- Evolution 2.8.1 problems with IMAP https://launchpad.net/bugs/72041 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 72041] Evolution 2.8.1 problems with IMAP
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I've recently installed Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy with GNOME 2.16.1. As mail- client I'm using Evolution 2.8.1. I have noticed the following problem with IMAP accounts: every IMAP account shows the "normal" folders (inbox, sent etc.), but additionally it also shows an empty and nameless folder. This folder cannot be deleted, the subscription cannot be cancelled. Trying this I'm getting error messages such as: "cannot delete folder: unknown folder". The nameless folder definitely doesn't exist at the account (I checked by web access of the account at my provider's control center). I've tried with other e-mail clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, KMail), they all can access the IMAP-account without any problems and without showing empty nameless folders. I have also tried with different IMAP-accounts, have created fresh accounts from the scratch at my provider. I have even tried Evolution 2.8.1 at different computers. At last I have tried another provider (using a freemail IMAP account). Every time Evolution shows the same problem: a mysterious nameless IMAP-folder which I cannot get rid of. I have also started Ubuntu and Evolution from the live DVD: still the same problem. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Evolution 2.8.1 problems with IMAP https://launchpad.net/bugs/72041 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
