*Of course* this version is no longer supported. But what about the actual 
(mis-)feature?
Is it actually *fixed* in a newer version?

Letting this *essential feature of ANY electronic calendar* hanging for years 
and then closing 
as Invalid without any further information feels a bit... whatever.

Confirmed problem and solution: Uninstalling connman made network-manager work 
again.
And I also think it's not a duplicate of bug #647655.
