[Bug 1812523] Re: Gpaste copy buffer fills itself up with instances of a single copied image
I'm seeing the same behavior on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS using gnome-shell- extensions 3.36.3-1 on Gnome 3.36.7 and pasting images captured with KDE Spectacle. Every time I take a screen shot and press the "Copy to Clipboard" button, my gpaste buffer fills up with copies of the image and my CPU spikes until Gnome Shell crashes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1812523 Title: Gpaste copy buffer fills itself up with instances of a single copied image To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gpaste/+bug/1812523/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1864871] Re: Failed to init Intel sound card in 20.04
I see this problem on a Dell Inspiron 3630. Workaround: The problem is only manifest when the modules are loaded during boot. After booting, I only have the dummy sound card. But if I run `sudo alsa force-reload` my sound card is correctly detected and functions fine until my next reboot. I added a script to force-reload alsa after boot, and things seem to be reliable enough while I wait for a permanent fix. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1864871 Title: Failed to init Intel sound card in 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-5.4/+bug/1864871/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 229112] Re: swing.properties should be in /etc, so the Java Look and Feel can be changed
I think the request in the new description makes a lot of sense (though it probably would have been better as a new bug report). The user should be able to change the default look and feel be editing something in /etc. There are already a number of java properties files in /etc/java-6-sun that allow manipulation of other configuration settings. As a work-around, I created /etc/java-6-sun/swing.properties with the swing.defaultlaf setting, and symlinked it to /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.06/jre/lib. For anyone getting here via Google, the correct value for Nimbus is: com.sun.java.swing.plaf.nimbus.NimbusLookAndFeel (beware though, it can cause Null Pointer Exceptions, see http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6800801) -- swing.properties should be in /etc, so the Java Look and Feel can be changed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229112 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 514802] [NEW] exclude_file ignored when exclude is used
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rsnapshot System: Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 Version: 1.3.0-2 Environment --- I have an exclude file that contains a list of file types that I want to exclude from backup. For one of my backup paths, I also list a subdirectory to exclude. Here are the relevant parts of my rsnapshot.conf: exclude_file /etc/rsnapshot/exclude backup /home/myuser mylaptop/ exclude=NoBak backup /home/otheruser mylaptop/ Here is the relevant line from the exclude file: /**/*.vdi Expected Behavior - I would expect .vdi files to be excluded from all backup paths, and the NoBak directory to be excluded in /home/myuser. Observed Behavior - Though the NoBak subdirectory in /home/myuser is excluded from the backup, .vdi files are being included. However, .vdi files in /home/otheruser are not being included. Other Information - rsync behaves appropriately when it is handed both a --exclude and --exclude-from flag. I quickly went through the exclude and exclude_file areas of the rsnapshot Perl script, and the error was not obvious to me. It seemed like the rsync command line was being built correctly with the ".=" operator. ** Affects: rsnapshot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: SourceForge.net Tracker #2942861 http://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?aid=2942861 -- exclude_file ignored when exclude is used https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/514802 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 434254] [NEW] KDE weather widgets won't connect through NOAA
Public bug reported: Using Kubuntu Karmic 9.10 Alpha 6 I see this bug without installing any extra packages, and I'm not sure which part of KDE base installs the default Plasma Widgets. Searching for my city using NOAA's National Weather Service, clicking on the search box gives absolutely no feedback, so I cannot configure the widget and I have to click on Cancel. I see the behavior with: * Weather Forecast from the default install * LCD Weather station from the default install because they appear to share a configuration dialog. I thought I might be missing something, so I tried installing additional packages: * kweather doesn't appear to install a usable widget. It looks like it is some kind of service. Is it necessary for the plasma widgets to work? Installing or uninstalling it doesn't appear to make a difference. * Simple Weather Forecast from kweather uses the Yahoo data service, and requests a cryptic city code. Once I figured out that it needed my ZIP code, things appear to be working. It isn't as nice, but it's a functional work-around. Once LCD Weather said something about not being able to validate, but I haven't been able to reproduce it. I'm not sure what format it wants my city in to be able to validate. I wish there was a list selector. This behavior appears to be a KDE 4.3 thing (not Kubuntu specific), as my experience is the same as this forum thread, including the occasional error message (though I don't see an option for weather wallpaper in desktop settings so I couldn't test that): http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/debian-26/kde-4.3-weather-plasmoids-wont-search-for-a-location-745643/ ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- KDE weather widgets won't connect through NOAA https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434254 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 434214] [NEW] Fails to connect through a CNAME.
Public bug reported: I just upgraded from Kubuntu Hardy 8.04 to Kubuntu Karmic 9.10 Alpha 6 I have three Jabber accounts that were all previously working, and all failed to connect after the upgrade. One is a gmail account, and two are gmail accounts using domains hosted at gmail. The gmail account began working after installing qca-tls. The other accounts needed qca-tls, but still wouldn't work until I had also changed the hostname from the talk.mydomain CNAME to the canonical name talk.l.google.com It appears that Kopete can't do CNAME lookups anymore. This is reported upstream at: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201240 ** Affects: kopete (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Fails to connect through a CNAME. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 434180] [NEW] Can't pass options to gvim as external editor
Public bug reported: I just update to Kubuntu Karmic Alpha 6 from Kubuntu Hardy 8.04 I have used GVim as an external editor, and it has always worked well. The setting is in Configure->Composer->External Editor. This was my "Specify editor" command: gvim "+set ft=mail" -f %f In Karmic, this command does not work. The settings string is interpreted as a filename, Vim complains about multiple open files, and the saved text does not make it back into KMail--it's in a file named +set ft=mail" in my Documents folder. I then tried this: gvim -c "+set ft=mail" -f %f But it has the same problem. Removing the options works fine: gvim -f %f But then Vim doesn't know writing an email. Let me know if I should provide any additional information. ** Affects: kdepim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Can't pass options to gvim as external editor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434180 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdepim in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 354575] Re: Sun Report Building crashes OpenOffice Base
I forgot to mention that I am using amd64. [Bug 354575] [NEW] Sun Report Building crashes OpenOffice Base
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org-report-builder Behavior: Creating a new report using the Sun report builder works fine including saving, closing OpenOffice Base, reopening Base, and reopening the report. After opening an existing report, closing any report builder window crashes openoffice. The recovery works fine and restores all data. Choosing to skip recovery and instead just open the previous version of the file results in all tables going AWOL. Version numbers of relevant packages: Kubuntu 8.04.2 OpenOffice 3.0.1-7ubuntu~hardy1 from http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu hardy main Sun report builder 1.0.5+OOo3.0.1-7ubuntu1~hardy1 Research: Google says that this is also a problem on Ubuntu 8.10, PCLinuxOS, and SuSE 11. It is rumored to be resolved by installing the report builder extension directly from Sun. I don't have time to test that right now, but wanted to get this bug logged before moving on. [Bug 219206] Re: Crash on odbc traffic with MySQL server
I linked this to upstream bug: http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=85094 I'm not certain it is the same, but it looks pretty close. ** Bug watch added: OpenOffice.org Issue Tracker #85094 http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=85094 ** Also affects: openoffice via http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=85094 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- Crash on odbc traffic with MySQL server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219206 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 219206] Re: Crash on odbc traffic with MySQL server
I see the same behavior when accessing SQLite3 (3.4.2-2) via libsqliteodbc (0.70-3), unixodbc (2.2.11-16build1), and odbcinst1debian1 (2.2.11-16build1). I can see the list of tables inside the database, but if I do anything that tries to read a database table, Base disappears. I have tried this with near-empty databases. I am using Kubuntu 10.04 Hardy 64 bit Intel. I loaded OpenOffice3 rc1 and saw the similar crash with a large sqlite database. Perhaps the problem is in the ODBC libraries? -- Crash on odbc traffic with MySQL server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219206 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
