[Bug 357971] Re: keyboard switches to Arabic after jaunty upgrade

2009-08-23 Thread rex_the_first
I have just convinced my sister to change to Ubuntu and then when she
updated her new PC is unusable as it is in Afghan, she is going back to
Windows... There have been a few console-setup, syslog, and config.dat
attached. Can this bug status be changed to confirmed yet?

Thank slockin,

I had the same errors and this resolved my problem. Maybe the error
console could explain the problem more clearly?

[Bug 334816] [NEW] Firefox page restarts Xorg

2009-02-26 Thread rex_the_first
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

On Ubuntu 8.04 - Hardy Heron

with Video card giving
lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. Chrome9 HC IGP (rev

Going to this page:

http://www.luuonline.com/elections/candidatemanifestos.php

seems to restart Xorg. In fedora it only crashes Firefox.

[Bug 181142] Re: Rotate and save the image counter-clockwise

2008-01-08 Thread rex_the_first
No, I was not in full screen. I can't say much more becasue the problem
is intermittent. I think it might be connected to another program
because when I used another image editor (Eye of Gnome or F-Spot) and
used the

"[" key it worked and then started working in gthumb.

[Bug 181142] Rotate and save the image counter-clockwise

2008-01-07 Thread rex_the_first
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gthumb

The keyboard short cut for

"Rotate and save the image counter-clockwise of 90 degrees. The
rotation is lossless for jpeg images."

That is the "[" has stopped working. It saves the image but does not
rotate it. Rotating clockwise still works.

[Bug 94820] Re: feisty herd5 AMD64 fails to detect SATA drive

2007-10-19 Thread rex_the_first
I skipped out Feisty because of this. It still exists in Gustsy. I
found that changing where SATA connected to my motherboard (slot 0
instead of slot 1) fixed the problem see
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=450302. My motherboard is
First International Computer P4-865G Series/VL35G. I will provided
information if it helps as losing hard drives is bad.

[Bug 106408] Re: Kernel 2.6.20-15 loses two partitions/disks

2007-04-23 Thread rex_the_first
I also have this problem. After upgrading to Fesity my second hard
drive seems to be nowhere

#
$ sudo fdisk -l

Disk /dev/sda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 13305265473817 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/sda23306954150090670 83 Linux
/dev/sda395429729 15101105 Extended
/dev/sda595429729 1510078+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris
#

but it does not find my serial ATA second hard drive. It can be found
in windows. Here is my fstab

#
$ cat /etc/fstab
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# -- This file has been automaticly generated by ntfs-config --
#
#

proc /proc proc defaults 0 0

# Entry for /dev/sda1 :

#

and my device map (if it helps)

#
$ cat /boot/grub/device.map
(hd0) /dev/hda
(hd1) /dev/sda
#

Sometimes when I boot it names the drive hda and other times sda!

[Bug 89235] Re: can no longer jump words with CTRL-arrow in gnome-terminal

2007-04-23 Thread rex_the_first
I have just upgraded to feisty and have this problem.

Andrew Marks solution seems to solve the problem when using bash on my
own computer but I need to add this to the inputrc to all the other
computers I use via SSH. Also when I use vi I get

1;5D

Instead of jumping words. Thank you for the solution but I was
wondering if there is a way of fixing everywhere.
