[Bug 1578261] Re: import utmp fails with ImportError: No module named utmpaccess

2016-11-16 Thread ricolai
On x86_64, I confirm that :
sudo ln -s
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/utmpaccessmodule.x86_64-linux-gnu.so
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/utmpaccess.x86_64-linux-gnu.so

fixes the problem.

[Bug 1163720] Re: Brightness control broken on XPS13 with 3.8.0-16 and 3.8.0-22

2013-06-09 Thread ricolai
Still affected in 3.8.0-24 and -25 :

* stuck at maximum level at startup and after a suspend
* Fn keys change brightness indicator only, not actual brightness

The brightness can be changed after running:

sudo bash -c "echo 0 > /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness"

[Bug 548992] Re: Wireless connection frequently drops [deauthenticating by local choice (reason=3)]

2010-10-26 Thread ricolai
I confirm this problem on an EeePC 1005PE, with wireless card Atheros
9285, driver ath9k, for various kernels from the ones used in lucid to
the current one (2.6.35-23.25 from the kernel ppa) in maverick, on 2
different wifi networks (university networks) using WPA-Enterprise,
PEAP, MSCHAPv2, and relying on DHCP.

Problem currently solved by "ipv6.disable=1" in grub

[Bug 385974] Re: rdesktop has black cursor instead of white cursor

2010-06-01 Thread ricolai
For convenience and simplicity of reuse, I've put rdesktop rev1593 in my PPA.
Binaries available for i386 and amd64.

ppa:ricolai/ppa

Simply add it with apt-add-repository and update your packages.

[Bug 385974] Re: rdesktop has black cursor instead of white cursor

2010-05-21 Thread ricolai
Confirmed on Ubuntu 10.04 with the repository version, trying to connect
to a Windows Server 2008 R2.

Solved by using the last CVS version (rev1593), with no need to apply
the patch mentionned by #21.

sudo m-a update
sudo m-a prepare

[Bug 131133] Re: [gutsy] no sound on Dell Latitude D630/D830/Precision M4300/Vostro 1500/1700 pci id 8086:284b

2007-10-03 Thread ricolai
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=564581&highlight=82801h

here is a solution for that chipset, that worked on Tribe 4 on a D630
for _Doc_, and worked on gusty beta on a D830 for me :

sudo apt-get install module-assistant
sudo m-a update
sudo m-a prepare
sudo m-a a-i alsa

+reboot ( or restart alsa components)

I had compiled Alsa version 1.0.15rc1 as described on
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/DellLatitudeD830 , but it didn't work.

maybe it's necessary to have that version of Alsa, and to do that trick
to make it work.

At last i have sound !!!
