[Bug 548992] Re: Wireless connection frequently drops [deauthenticating by local choice (reason=3)]
I confirm this problem on an EeePC 1005PE, with wireless card Atheros 9285, driver ath9k, for various kernels from the ones used in lucid to the current one (2.6.35-23.25 from the kernel ppa) in maverick, on 2 different wifi networks (university networks) using WPA-Enterprise, PEAP, MSCHAPv2, and relying on DHCP. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=564581&highlight=82801h here is a solution for that chipset, that worked on Tribe 4 on a D630 for _Doc_, and worked on gusty beta on a D830 for me : sudo apt-get install module-assistant sudo m-a update sudo m-a prepare sudo m-a a-i alsa +reboot ( or restart alsa components) I had compiled Alsa version 1.0.15rc1 as described on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/DellLatitudeD830 , but it didn't work. maybe it's necessary to have that version of Alsa, and to do that trick to make it work.
