[Bug 1405084] Re: Scrolling takes 18 seconds holding down arrow key at 180% zoom

2016-01-25 Thread robegue
Can you please try with Microsoft Office at 180% zoom (corresponding to almost
full width in my screen)?
Not in Virtualbox or similar, otherwise it's affected by Xorg and all linux
evnironment.

Thank you.

** Summary changed:

- Scrolling takes 5 seconds holding down arrow key at 100% zoom
+ Scrolling takes 18 seconds holding down arrow key at 180% zoom

** Description changed:

- At 100% zoom, I count about 5 seconds to scroll from first to second
- page by holding the arrow-down key. CPU is not occupied by any other
- program.
-
- At 180% zoom, I count about 18 seconds to scroll from first to second
- page by holding the arrow-down key.
+ At 180% zoom (almost full width), with the attached document I count
+ about 18 seconds to scroll from first to second page by holding the
+ arrow-down key.

  At 180% zoom, a two-pages text-only document takes less than 2 seconds
to scroll from first to second page by holding the arrow-down key.

It becomes faster (not much) when the same image covers a smaller area.

From settings, I've tried to maximize the graphics memory, and to
enable/disable hardware acceleration and antialiasing, but it doesn't
  help.

The problem persists in LibreOffice 4.3.5-rc2 from ubuntu PPA.

[Bug 1405084] Re: Scrolling takes 5 seconds holding down arrow key at 100% zoom

2016-01-24 Thread robegue
Well, if you think that 18 seconds to scroll a page is normal, you could
have closed this earlier without making me flashing bios and installing
software. I'm sure there's something wrong in this terrible scrolling
lag, not expected even on a cellphone nowadays...

I've tried with xenial-desktop-amd64 live cd, but I get the same
slowness, no improvement.

I've also tried to lanuch it through virtualbox, but it doesn't help
either.

when I say very slow I mean several seconds to scroll one page. But as I

2013-03-17 Thread robegue
Hi Knut,

no you can't. If/when I have time I may upload the i386 package as well.
But you can easily do it yourself: just take the original package, then
do

mkdir temp
cd temp
dpkg-deb -x ../package.deb . #note the final mark
dpkg-deb -e ../package.deb #without mark

Now edit the package content: remove ktelnetservice and kmailservice
files (also man files), change version.

Rebuilding:

dpkg-deb -b . ../newpackage.deb #note the initial mark

dpkg -i ../newpackage.deb

enjoy!

Hi Knut,

1. no it isn't. It's sudo dpkg -i ../newpackage.deb.
-i is for installing, -I is for info, read the manual.

2. the kde3 applications are just fine, why you want to change
installation root? I don't think it'is useful.

2013-03-08 Thread robegue
The problem is that even if we modify the kdelibs4c2a in order to avoid
the overwriting of ktelnetservice and kmailservice files (deb package
attached), the kdelibs5-plugins breaks kdelibs4c2a. Therefore I cannot
see a long-term solution here.

[Bug 449876] Re: udev causes raid to degrade after update to Karmic beta

2009-10-13 Thread robegue
I'm also encountering this bug after upgrading to karmic (2.6.31-13).
I can still boot using an older kernel (2.6.27-14).

the /proc/mdstat says that the arrays are inactive and 'mdadm --A -s' in
the busybox doesn't work. If i stop the md0 with 'mdadm -S /dev/md0' and
then reassemble, it is assembled with a single drive instead of two.

In summary the array is marked as degraded even if it's not.

Re: [Bug 191606] Re: Dark Background, Light Foreground Themes Disable Cell BG Colors

2008-03-10 Thread robegue
Please, try this simple procedure:

1) open ooffice-impress with the dark theme (e.g. Serenity::OuterSpace)

2) create a new empty presentation

3) insert some text in the slide (it should appear white on a black
background)

4) try to change the text color

it won't change but stays white until you go to View-Color/BW-Color
(but the preview list on the left is always BW)

I also tried to play with Automatically recognize high contrast scheme
in the options but it seems to have no effect.

Moreover if you select Grayscale or BW in View-Color/BW menu, it
won't return to the initial white text on black background state. It
doesn't seems normal to me!

Tried both on debian-sid and kubuntu.

Roberto.

Chris Cheney [EMAIL PROTECTED] ha scritto: Roberto,

It seems to work for me in presentation when creating my own
presentation, I don't have any .ppt or .odp files to test with. One
thing that might make a difference is that background colors on slides
is usually set to 'None' not to white so if using a dark background the
the background of the slide becomes dark as well. Actually on 2.4.0~rc2
setting color mode to black/white makes the slide go completely black on
my system.

I am marking this bug as upstream due to the calc part of the issue.

Status in Source Package openoffice.org in Ubuntu: Confirmed

Bug description:
When you are using a color scheme with a dark background light foreground,
cell background colors are no longer displayed. For example, try using the
high contrast, inverted color scheme. Go to Format Cell and the color is
set there, but you don't see it on the spreadsheet.

Cell background colors should be shown regardless of color scheme type.

Yes, I forgot to say that such option is in ooffice-impress.
If you open a presentation (.ppt or .odp) with a dark color scheme, it will
show in b/w only.

Thank you,

Roberto Guerra

Te colors appear if you select from the menu View - Color/Grey - Color
But the previews are still B/W, and the buttons (for example Bold,
Underlined...) state is not visible at all.
I really can't use my favourite color scheme Serenity::OuterSpace due to this
bug.
