[Bug 771896] Re: No way to save current session

2011-05-06 Thread rschlitz
Not to be too flip, but Kubuntu 11.04 (KDE) "looking like" ubuntu
classic (gnome) has no problem saving the session. There may be other
problems but that certainly is not one.

This needs to be fixed for all the reasons listed above...

Can you save the session in classic now? In Ubuntu 10.10, the session
could be saved System->Preferences->Startup Applications->Options; not
now.

~$ killall gnome-panel; not elegant or satisfying but it works. This is a
problem over multiple installations but does not consistently happen. It is
quite annoying that it has not been fixed by now.

[Bug 563893] Re: Thunderbird will not launch due to a recursive symlink

2010-04-18 Thread rschlitz
As others my configuration files were completely wiped out in the amd64
version. Also symlink is created each time Thunderbird is started:
.mozilla-thunderbird -> /home/user/.thunderbird

A .thunderbird.upstream sub-directory never appeared in the home
directory.

This is quite bad form, even if it is a beta, since recovery seems
almost impossible. Perhaps Thunderbird needs an auto-backup for the
configuration files.

Re: [Bug 222944] Re: mailto links in Firefox 3.0b5 do not open up Thunderbird compose windows

2008-05-13 Thread rschlitz
Thanks. This worked. Since I had already removed
"network.protocol-handler.app.mailto", editing it back in with "thunderbird"
as the value, then following on with the rest solved the problem. In the
process I cleaned up many other "garbage" files in .mozilla that must be
from multiple earlier upgrades and updates.
