[Bug 771448] Re: desktop wall edge flipping broken

2012-03-21 Thread rtjmay
I can confirm that this issue continues to affect me on a fresh install
of 11.10. Adjusting the mouse poling interval has not helped and
restarting Unity only buys a minute or two of correct function before
mouse edge flipping stops working again.

[Bug 750481] Re: In a double monitor setup the Unity top panel in the second screen is cut at the right

2011-05-22 Thread rtjmay
I am also seeing the same thing with my dual display setup on ATI
graphics using the open source driver.

Thankfully the indicators are all duplicated on the second screen so I
don't lose access to anything.

[Bug 771448] Re: desktop wall edge flipping broken

2011-05-22 Thread rtjmay
I've found that dragging a window across an edge to move it to the next
desktop temporarily fixes the issue.

The 2.6.39rc4 also failed to fix the issue on my HP.

I will try an older kernel version next.

2011-05-11 Thread rtjmay
This issue is also affecting my HP dv7-1245ca.

Hibernation fails to resume and waking from suspend results in a hard
lock that requires removing the battery to force a reboot.

[Bug 402140] Re: netbook-launcher crashed with signal 5 in g_main_context_dispatch()

2009-07-22 Thread rtjmay
After the launcher crashes the machine does not shutdown, but using
either Gnome's normal shutdown dialogue or sudo halt from a different
tty does work.

This is the first time Apport has generated a report, but the issue with
failing to shutdown (or logout) has been ongoing since I moved to Karmic
(see Bug #401989, https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/401989).

[Bug 401989] [NEW] netbook remix fails to shutdown

2009-07-20 Thread rtjmay
Public bug reported:

On the latest Karmic development version (19-07-2009) of the netbook
remix when Shutdown is selected from the quit menu the system does not
shutdown. The netbook interface closes, but nothing else happens. To
finish the shutdown I have to switch to another tty, login and run sudo
halt.

[Bug 401991] [NEW] gdm display issues on Karmic

2009-07-20 Thread rtjmay
Public bug reported:

On the latest Karmic development version (19-07-2009) of the netbook
remix when gdm displays the login page the options along the bottom are
not displayed properly. Only the the controls (i.e. combo boxs and
buttons) are displayed, the space between them is blank black space.
There is also choppiness when the login window changes after a user is
selected.
