[Bug 276037] Re: dir2ogg-0.11.4: Wrong values in ogg files for tags that are not present in mp3.

2010-06-26 Thread samotham
I just discovered dir2ogg (since mp32ogg is not supported anymore in
Ubuntu Lucid) I plan to use it on a regular basis on a server.

I found a bug regarding tags. Converting mp3 to ogg removes the
Comments tag and create a Tracknumber (114 in the example I did)

Hope it can be solved,
thanks for the good job

if it helps :
- the original comment (set with 'mp3info -c') was an url (including
http://...;), in case :// are guilty there
- I tried changing the original comment to a simple word, then the output of
dir2ogg still doesn't contain any comment and no werid Tracknumber field created

And my wifi card seems to pollute the network. Each big file transfer to other

[Bug 529526] [NEW] nokia 5800 smartphone not recognized as storage device (Karmic)

2010-02-28 Thread samotham
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal

Using Karmic (9.10), I can't get my Nokia 5800 connected as a storage
device... (it works with Jaunty)

dmesg gives me this :

then pcmanfm gives me this when I click on the device icon to mount it :

I guess the problem comes from hal, current version is 0.5.13-1ubuntu8

[Bug 460159] Re: ath5k module does not properly restart after suspend

2009-12-26 Thread samotham
seems I have got the same issue here.
ath5k is used on my karmic (upgraded few hours ago from jaunty).
00:09.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. Atheros AR5001X+
Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)

wifi works fine at startup, but then it fails and I can't get it working
as soon as I suspend and resume from suspend. (rmmod / modprobe
ath5k/ath won't fix)

I might have noticed a clue though :

dmesg | grep ath gives me this before suspend :
[ 12.713661] ath5k :00:09.0: enabling device ( - 0002)
[ 12.713677] ath5k :00:09.0: PCI INT A - Link[LNK3] - GSI 11 (level,
low) - IRQ 11
[ 12.713764] ath5k :00:09.0: registered as 'phy0'
[ 12.818313] ath: EEPROM regdomain: 0x30
[ 12.818318] ath: EEPROM indicates we should expect a direct regpair map
[ 12.818322] ath: Country alpha2 being used: AM
[ 12.818324] ath: Regpair used: 0x30
[ 14.440610] ath5k phy0: Atheros AR5213A chip found (MAC: 0x59, PHY: 0x43)
[ 14.440614] ath5k phy0: RF2112B 2GHz radio found (0x46)

and that *after* suspend :
[ 115.784403] ath5k :00:09.0: PCI INT A disabled
[ 121.703339] ath5k :00:09.0: PCI INT A - Link[LNK3] - GSI 11 (level,
low) - IRQ 11
[ 121.703427] ath5k :00:09.0: registered as 'phy0'
[ 121.805448] ath: EEPROM regdomain: 0x30
[ 121.805453] ath: EEPROM indicates we should expect a direct regpair map
[ 121.805457] ath: Country alpha2 being used: AM
[ 121.805459] ath: Regpair used: 0x30

the diff is
before = ath5k :00:09.0: enabling device ( - 0002)
after = ath5k :00:09.0: PCI INT A disabled

disabled sounds bad to me but i'm no dev at all :)
hope this helps

[Bug 173240] Re: [needs-packaging] gollage

2009-01-26 Thread samotham
I couldn't compile gollage correctly on my Ubuntu 8.04.2

As gollage couldn't compile for MagickCore/MagickWand reasons, I first
removed imagemagick package then tried to install it from source
available on the website.

$ ./configure

seemed fine

$ make

it ended with the following error :

LD_RUN_PATH=/home/XXX/ImageMagick-6.4.8-9/PerlMagick/../magick/.libs:/home/XXX/ImageMagick-6.4.8-9/PerlMagick/../wand/.libs
cc -L../magick/.libs -lMagickCore -L../wand/.libs -lMagickWand -shared
-L/usr/local/lib -lfreetype -lz Magick.o -o
blib/arch/auto/Image/Magick/Magick.so\
   -L/usr/local/lib
-L/home/XXX/ImageMagick-6.4.8-9/PerlMagick/../magick/.libs -lMagickCore
-L/home/XXX/ImageMagick-6.4.8-9/PerlMagick/../wand/.libs -lMagickWand -lperl
-lm\

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lperl
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [blib/arch/auto/Image/Magick/Magick.so] Error 1

make[1]: *** [all-perl] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/XXX/ImageMagick-6.4.8-9'
make: *** [all] Error 2

it would be interesting to have gollage package in ubuntu though...

[Bug 58873] Re: can't boot after synaptic segmentation fault (pb with apport ?)

2006-09-11 Thread samotham
unfortunately, i won't be able to help anymore,
cause of this error, my computer was completely stuck, keyboard nearly not
responding, cpu 100% busy...
I couldn't do anything else than reinstalling ubuntu.
That's what i did...

I had checked and pasted the var/log outputs with a live cd.

[Bug 58873] can't boot after synaptic segmentation fault (pb with apport ?)

2006-09-04 Thread samotham
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: apport

following a synaptic segmentation fault, my ubuntu/edgy was going insane (mouse
was kinda frozen, nothing was responding...). I managed to switch to some
console. 'top' command indicated that there was loads of 'apport' running,
eating all the ressources. (console mode was very very slow). Then from now, i
can't do anything, even if i reboot cause it gets kinda frozen very fast.
I checked some /var/log files, i found this one, which can help, i hope.

following those, i have more than **5000** of lines similar to this one.

Each time i want to boot, this file is getting filled very fast, while
the system is very slow (i can't use x and console mode is very very
slow...)
