[Bug 295414] Re: Wireless network keeps disconnecting in Intrepid
I too have a similar problem. My machine is Dell Inspiron 1525. I had rock solid internet connection untill the day I messed up with dhcp while trying to net boot a machine. I cant remember the sequence of events that lead to this problem. I did a lot of installing and uninstalling of rarpd, dhcp3-server,tftpd,tftp,tftpd-hpa,tftp-hpa packages according to some tutorials on the net. So I really dont remember what I did. But after that incident, my WiFi gets disconnected after every 5 mins. Connection over the ethernet is rock solid and I usually keep my computer connected to the internet for days together. If my case could suggest a clue to the experts to solve the whole bug it'll be fantastic. -- Wireless network keeps disconnecting in Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295414 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 311073] [NEW] ide disk detected as sata disk
Public bug reported: Hello friends, I have a desktop where I have two IDE disks, 160GB and 40GB respectively. I had previously used Ubuntu 6.10,7.04,7.10, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Ultimate. In all these flavours of Ubuntu both the hardisks were detected as hda and hdb respectively. I recently wiped both the harddisks off and installed Ubuntu 8.10 through a CD which I shipped from Shipit. Now my harddisks aredetected as sda and sdb respectively. The problem did not become so serious untill Nautilus did not show the files and folders in one of my partitions except two folders. I navigated through the terminal and typed 'ls'. It showed all the files and folders in my partition. I was able to view the contents of one of the folder and I deleted it. I'm able to view the contents of the other folder but when trying to delete it I'm getting an I/O error and deletion does not proceed. Please help me out. I need the files/folders in that partition. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ide disk detected as sata disk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/311073 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 270430] [NEW] CPU usage increases on switching to battery from AC power
Public bug reported: Hello friends, I'm using Hardy Heron 8.04.1, Linux kernel version 2.6.24-19-generic. My machine is a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop with 2x Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @ 1.83GHz Processor, and 2GB of Ram (I'm herewith attaching a full specs of my machine generated using the tool HardInfo). Here goes my problem. I'm running firefox and totem now. My System Monitor shows a cpu usage of 30% in both of my processors. I was running on AC power when my cpu showed 30%. Now when i unplug the ac power, and run on battery power, my system monitor shows both cpu usage as 60%. I did the same thing for almost ten times and am finding the same thing. This is the most peculiar problem which one can encounter. Please find me a solution for this as increased cpu load in battery mode means more battery power consumption which is not good. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ac battery cpu increase power usage -- CPU usage increases on switching to battery from AC power https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/270430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 232389] [NEW] Nautilus Crashed: symbol lookup error
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus hello, Yesterday morning i updated my hardy heron and after reboot system did not work. I found a bunch of problems arising. 1. During login screen it says one of the svg images from usr/share/ direcctory is corrupted and loads another login screen instead of the default login screen. 2. after i key in my user id and password, I get a screen which has a pop up saying "hal failed to initialize". After that nothing loads in the screen. I went into the failsafe terminal mode and type nautilus. This is wat it had to say Quote: nautilus: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgio-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: glib_gettext I reinstalled nautilus, gdm, ubuntu-desktop using apt-get. Stil problem persists. Problem with the login screen is also tolerable, but find me a solution to the second problem. NOTE: 1.Two days before I updated my system I installed gtk. I used my system a couple of times before the crash without any problem. This crash happened only after update 2. My system is a fresh hardy heron install and not upgraded from previous versions. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: libgio.2.0.so.0 symbol undefined -- Nautilus Crashed: symbol lookup error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/232389 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
