I dropped to the terminal and tried to report a bug with elinks, but launchpad denighed it because of a header issue. Any ways, I rebooted from the terminal and x came up fine this time. I have been holding down shift during start up and then booting into safe mode. From there login and do your password After that type startx unfortunatly it is not a perminant fix, I have continued to have problems but at least I don't have to leave it on. Thank you for clearing that up. The side bar is toggled on and off with F9 or going through the editcomponentssidebar The sidebar is by default to close to the edge. So close that no icons would show up. When I toggled the button F9 the difference between the side bar on and off was very little. But it is there and availible. [Bug 146992] Re: Broadcom 4311 driver stopped working after update
Yea my Dell Lattitude D610 with the broadcom airforce card works with the restricted drivers. But when I do an update I have to connect via ethernet to get my wireless working again? If restricted drivers could save that file on the hard-drive so I wouldn't have to reconnect to the internet that would be awsome.
