[Bug 774193] [NEW] Clocks for other locations don't sort by timezone

2011-04-30 Thread semacore
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: clock-setup

When you set up multiple locations in the clock setting they don't sort
by timezone like they used to under previous versions.

This happens in both Unity and Ubuntu Classic (Gnome 2.32.1)

[Bug 456468] Re: upgrade triggers nm-applet "resource not found" ... missing icon "nm-applet-device"

2010-04-27 Thread semacore
I have the same issue that occurred right after I upgraded from the
beta.

At one point some of the icons were doubled and the network manager icon
next to the clock were missing.

How do we go about restoring it to the panel. It seems to be one of the
few things missing from the list of things you can add to the panels.

[Bug 490927] [NEW] wireless drivers need to be reinstalled after computer goes to sleep

2009-12-01 Thread semacore
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bcmwl-modaliases

bcmwl-modaliases needs to be reinstalled via the package manager when
the computer computer hibernates.

This is sort of a duplicate bug except that I don't think the 2 issues
have been linked yet.

There are reported bugs for both the 802 drivers unloading and for the
screen not rebrightening from being 50% dim but not for both issues
together.

[Bug 421095] Re: Karmic BCM4311 doesn't work with Broadcom B43 wireless driver and Driver Broadcom STA

2009-11-19 Thread semacore
Not fixed afterall.
Problem came back when laptop was left on and allowed to hibernate/sleep.
Not sure what one has to do with the other.

Could it be connected to the problem where the screen can't recover from
being dimmed 50%?

[Bug 421095] Re: Karmic BCM4311 doesn't work with Broadcom B43 wireless driver and Driver Broadcom STA

2009-11-15 Thread semacore
I should note that this was not an issue when I first "upgraded" from
the stable 9.04 to the buggy 9.10

This problem was caused by one of the updates since the release which I
took because I was trying to fix other issues.

The hardware I have worked fine under:
 - Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS (Hardy Heron)
 - Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex)
 - Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope)
 - Windows Vista

Is there a guide for downgrading to 9.04?

[Bug 421095] Re: Karmic BCM4311 doesn't work with Broadcom B43 wireless driver and Driver Broadcom STA

2009-11-13 Thread semacore
I am using a n wireless card on a dell xps m1710.

It seems to happen when the computer is idle and then the driver becomes
corrupt and won't reload.

I've done the following about 7 times... it's a temporary fix at best
but does get you working ... until at least the computer goes idle.

1 - Add the Install CD to the software sources
2 - In Synaptic, locate the broadcomm sta package and mark for reinstall
3 - Reboot, go to Administration/Hardware drivers and hopefully now the
wirelles driver is working.
4 - rinse and repeat

Could the issue be connected to the screen going dim when idle and not
re-brightening bug?
