[Bug 325040] Re: rhythmbox crash when reaching end of Last.FM playlist

2009-02-05 Thread servel333
I have the following packages installed already:
 - libsoup2.4-1
 - rhythmbox
 - rhythmbox-dbg

Near the bottom of the page
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash
it reads:
"Alternatively, main Ubuntu repositories could contain '-dbg' debug symbol
packages. Those are equivalent to '-dbgsym'. You can safely use either one, but
not both at once."

Since I have the -dbg package installed, I thought it was the same as
the -dbgsym.

Maybe I'm issuing the wrong commands to gdb? or other commands would be
helpful?

I use the attached script to launch rhythmbox in the debugger.

I issue the following commands once gdb is loaded:
handle SIG33 pass nostop noprint
set pagination 0
run

I issue the following commands when rhythmbox appears to freeze:
press ctrl-c
backtrace full
info registers
thread apply all backtrace
quit

[Bug 325040] Re: rhythmbox crash when reaching end of Last.FM playlist

2009-02-04 Thread servel333
That's all I'm going to post for now. Let me know if more info will or
will not be useful, or maybe other commands I can run to get more useful
info. It seems to happen eventually and consistently now.

Freeze while listening to Last.FM

Don't know if it happened while it was moving to the next song or at
another time. I just noticed the sound stopped and the UI of rhythmbox
was locked up after the fact.

Ok, this time it froze while it said "retrieving playlist" from last.fm,
twice in a row.

[Bug 325040] Re: rhythmbox crash when reaching end of Last.FM playlist

2009-02-04 Thread servel333
Steps:
# Pause music
# pair headphones with cell phone
# resume music

I'm thinking now this may be less of an issue with Last.FM and more of
an issue with the bluetooth headphones.

[Bug 325040] Re: rhythmbox crash when reaching end of Last.FM playlist

2009-02-04 Thread servel333
I checked the /var/crash folder and found there are no files in this
folder, even when viewing hidden files. Is there any other folder or
place I can look to pull up and submit crash logs, any setting I can
change to make rhythmbox generate logs or crash reports, or anything I
can do when the application is in a state where it is non-responsive to
get more information out of it?
