[Bug 161794] Re: autologin doesn't work

2009-09-14 Thread seshomaru samma
Hi,
I'm using Intrepid and experiencing the exact same symptoms in auto logins: the
x cursor hangs on for hours

I'm not sure which patch to apply and how , I've looked here :
https://launchpad.net/~francis-giraldeau/+archive/ppa but still not
sure...

[Bug 192648] [NEW] opera refuses keyboard input in gutsy (SCIM related?)

2008-02-17 Thread seshomaru samma
Public bug reported:

Running Gutsy on a Dell Dimension desktop. Ever since since upgrade
from Feisty , opera at times refuses to accept keyboard input , I can
open new tabs and browse . I can even paste input by using the middle
button of the mouse (but not ctrl+V or right-click-paste) but cannot
input anything else. If I restart Opera the problem disappears but can
sometimes reappear after a few minutes.. The is no special input or
errors in the terminal. I installed Gutsy for my friend on a Thinkpad
and he experiences the same situation. We are both using SCIM on Gnome
to input Chinese/Japanese in an English language session. The reason I
mention SCIM is because a similar problem was reported here :
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=689583 and SCIM is suggested as
the culprit.

** Affects: opera (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 83746] VMware server freezes :*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x092ddd98 ***

2007-02-07 Thread seshomaru samma
Public bug reported:

got the same error
on two different machines running dapper
one is a Dell desktop
one is a Lenovo laptop ( dapper fresh install )

installed linux-headers build-essential xinetd
then downloaded vmware server from http://www.vmware.com/products/server/
 installed with sudo ./vmware-install.pl
instalation went smooth no errors
but when i run it i get :
/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no
version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x092ddd98 ***

the vmware screen comes up but its totaly white and it freezes , can
only be closed with xkill or the kill command

i suspect it might conflict with other programmes i have as i got the
exact same result on two different machines

on my fresh install laptop i installed these programmes before vmware server:
gaim
flash plugins
all multimedia codecs, icluding dvd
hebrew/japanese/chinese support
xchat
camorama
kino
vlc
adobe reader plugin
gdesklets ( i had two desklets running at the time of installation)
xchm
abiword
mplayer
skype
j2se runtime environment

my kernel vesrion is 2.6.15-27-386
but i got the same bug on my other box about 6 month ago with a different
kernel ,cant remeber...
hope this info is sufficient
please contact me for more info
