[Bug 258850] Re: timeout in VMWare environment

2009-02-01 Thread seunghun
this is not a duplicate of 275659.

jockey-gtk crashed with DBusException in call_blocking() happens for
more than one reason. In this case, it is particular to open-vm-toolbox
package and running under VMWare. Anyone can repro under VMWare
workstation and 8.10 with open-vm-toolbox package installed.

[Bug 258850] Re: in VMWare environment

2009-01-13 Thread seunghun
this bug is not a duplicate.

it is present in jockey 0.5~beta3-0ubuntu6.1

i have open-vm-toolbox (2008.08.08) package installed. it loads
following kernel modules

vmblock
vmci
vmxnet
vmmemctl
vmhgfs

and jockey time outs as the report describes.

but after sudo /etc/init.d/vmware-tools stop

jockey will work. and helpfully, it will suggest VMware Virtual
Ethernet driver and VMware Virtual Machine Communication Interface

I'm running this under VMware Fusion 2.0 for mac
