[Bug 1875528] Re: Extra frozen / stuck mouse cursor after auto screen lock / sleep
This extra cursor frozen on screen issue exists in 20.10 Groovy Gorilla. (Just installed 20.10 on Lenovo T14 AMD and have a few issues to research.) Actual behavior: - Fractional scaling is on (actually needed to make laptop screen readable). - Extra cursor frozen on screen. Expected: - Fractional scaling on should not cause an extra dead cursor on screen. Remedy: - Turning off fractional scaling makes the dead cursor go away. If this should be reported elsewhere, let me know. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875528 Title: Extra frozen / stuck mouse cursor after auto screen lock / sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/1875528/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 945816] Re: [regression] Changing the HUD shortcut disables all Alt-based combinations. And changing the Dash shortcut disables all Super-based shortcuts.
I have the latest patched update for 12.04, 64 bit and this problem is still an issue. What's even worse is that with Virtualbox VMs running in fullscreen mode, the alt+tab combo within the VM triggers HUD outside the VM. This is not normal operation and should not occur until the right control key is pressed (releases the mouse controller from the VM). I went ahead and moved the alt key trigger to the right alt key, but now I cannot use any microsoft (super) keys within my Windows VM because it launches the unity search bar. These things should not be allowed to trigger from a full-screen VM. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945816 Title: [regression] Changing the HUD shortcut disables all Alt-based combinations. [Bug 953386] Re: Disabling "Key to show HUD" disables the Switcher
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 945816 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/945816 I am also getting the virtualbox/hud issue from the previous post (#6 - Jamesasgrim) The problem is that HUD should not be coming up in Virtualbox. It makes it painful to operate in windows without being able to use alt+tab to switch between windows in a windows 7 vm. More importantly, even when the Virtualbox VM is running in full-screen mode, somehow HUD still gets triggered from within the VM when an alt+tab is pressed. This is not a normal operation and should only occur once the right control key is pressed, which pulls the mouse away from the VM. [Bug 628986] [NEW] latest patch applied to Ubuntu Lucid (10.04) causes the screen to be black
Public bug reported: Yesterday, 9/1/2010, I received a bunch of patch updates for 10.04 (64-bit) and applied them to my laptop (Dell Latitude E6510, Intel Core i5). After they applied, it asked me if I wanted to reboot now or later. I chose later to finish my work and then shut my laptop off. This morning, I turned it on, only to get a black screen during bootup and also during login. I know it's working behind the scenes because I can hear the drum sound when it's ready to login and I can still press the power button and hit enter to shut it down (even though I can't see anything). I tried using Alt+F2->F12 but it would only show a black screen as well. My temporary workaround was to hold the shift button during startup to get the grub menu and then select the older 2.6.32-23 kernel to bootup instead of the newer 2.6.32-24. I am able to boot ok in the older kernel and it's working fine, but I don't know what is causing the problem for the newer one and cannot boot into that one. I believe I was running 2.6.32-24 fine up until I received that bundle of patches from yesterday and applied them to my system. So the question is, is there a way to figure out what patches were applied in yesterday's bundle so I can back them out? If not, how can I fix this so I can run the newer updated kernel? [Bug 596080] Re: dell latitude e6510 screen stays black from suspend
Sorry for the delay and thanks for the assistance. I've attached the files required per the wiki site and have a bit more info regarding what is going on. As it turns out, this is actually a suspend issue. Hybernation worked successfully, when selecting it from the pull down menu in Ubuntu 10.04 (64 bit). What did not work correctly was Suspend. Upon selecting suspend, the system does shut down and the power button on the laptop blinks. However, when turning the laptop back on, by pressing the power button, it does not awaken. The keyboard lights come on and the hard drive makes some noise and shows activity, but I cannot get a display at all. I've tried Alt+F1, Alt+F12 but nothing. The system is completely unresponsive and a hard reboot is required to get it back. I've attached the following files *after* rebooting the laptop and logging back in: 1) dmesg 2) cat /proc/cmdline 3) cat /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume The one thing I noticed when examining the cmdline and resume files was that the UUIDs were different. Is this supposed to be the case? Should I modify the /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume file to reflect the UUID from the /proc/cmdline file? Thanks. ** Attachment added: "dmesg" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/51836707/dmesg -- dell latitude e6510 screen stays black from suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/596080 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I also see this. My hardware : IBM x31, 1.7Ghz, 40GB hardrive, 1GB RAM. Can someone provide explicit instruction on how to edit? I see this comment below that was made previously but the problem I have is how to actually edit the file. "I edited /usr/lib/grub/grub-mkconfig_lib file . On line 147 I took out ALL the info from inside the quotes. I had previously read that taking out the "--no-floppy" was sufficient, not in my case. Simply uncommenting the line will not work either. So, line 147 should read: echo "" After making those changes, "dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc" (without quotes) needs to be run in terminal as root (sudo) i.e. $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc" If I can get into this directory and file, I can do what is suggested but a list of the commands I should perform would really help since I am good at repetition and following direction. :) -- Grub 2 problem, error: no such device https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403408 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 219914] Re: mod_disk_cache enabled globally by default
This behavior is because in 2.0, proxy.load and proxy.conf contained the "LoadModule disk_cache_module" and the mod_disk_cache config. Not enabling mod_disk_cache on upgrades would break caching for proxies (debian bug 407171). Maybe enabling mod_disk_cache on upgrades only if something like egrep -iq '^[[:space:]]*cacheenable' /etc/apache2/apache2.conf /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/* /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/* /etc/apache2/conf.d/* /etc/apache2/httpd.conf (in preinst) gives true would be better. -- mod_disk_cache enabled globally by default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219914 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 235809] Re: apache2 startup script fails to stop apache2 at times.
It is normal behavior that the apache processes stay around until they have finished processing the currently active requests (since we are using graceful-stop). Normally you should just be able to start apache again even before all processes are dead. Is this not the case for you? What error message do you get? -- apache2 startup script fails to stop apache2 at times. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235809 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 230878] Re: Apache 2 produces an OOM after 4 hours using
It would also be interesting to know what apache modules you have enabled and how the output of top looks just before the OOM situation (i.e. are there many large apache2 processes or only a few very large ones?). [Bug 221457] Re: apache2 crashed with SIGSEGV
This happens when the old apache is restarted when libaprutil1 has already been upgraded. It is fixed as soon as apache is upgraded, too.
