while the global menu add on is enabled firefox keeps crashing every few 
minutes 

in debug i got this:

that is not the reason, the dock is cairo-dock and i only installed and used
it as a temporary replacement, the problem started before i installed it and
still persists without it

When i boot into linux (using GRUB) i get one of 3 results:
 a) my animation works fine
b) the animaition semi works
c) black screen
then everything is to normal i get the login screen and all.

at the moment im using the stargate screen but it happened with two
others i used.

i have a plymouth version 0.8.2-2ubuntu22 while the one mentioned as
fixed there is 0.8.2-2ubuntu7 so maybe there is a slight regression?

i switched back to gdm and it's gone now but i still think it's worth
fixing
