[Bug 1404664] [NEW] X Server stopps responding

2014-12-21 Thread Gal Ish Shalom
Public bug reported:

Usually when working with google-chrome or chromium, X server stops responding;
you can see the screen, mouse is moving (event changing cursors correctly) but
no action can be taken.
Ctrl+Alt+F1 is working, from where chrome processes can be killed, but
situation does not change.
Kill the X server available through tweaks does terminate the server, but it
does not load back again (a gray screen appears, and nothing else happens). At
this point, Ctrl+Alt+F1 does nothing.

[Bug 1254614] [NEW] /usr/sbin/anacron is a symlink to true

2013-11-24 Thread Shalom Crown
Public bug reported:

The original is present in /usr/sbin/anacron.distrib
Even when I change it , it changes back the next day during / after the anacron
daily.

This is seen on 3 machines. They are all running Lubuntu live images,
from USB DOKs, with casper-rw as a separate partition (not file).

On properly installed machines (mainly Xubuntu) there is no problem.

transspot@lubuntu:~$ ll /usr/sbin/anac*

[Bug 426981] [NEW] Unicode characters in symbolic names causes stat error: file not found.

2009-09-09 Thread Shalom G.
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When trying to open symbolic links pointing to MP3 files, Rhythmbox fails to
open or import them to the media library with Couldn't access file:///...:
Error stating '/...': No such file or directory.
Checking debug logs, the filenames are indeed encoded in UTF-8 and
G_FILENAME_ENCODING='@locale' did not solve the issue.
Additionally, the problem only occurs if both the name of the symbolic link and
its target contain non-ASCII Unicode characters. If only one of those contains
them, it works as expected.
Also, I have symbolic links to directories where both the link and its target
contain non-ASCII characters and the files contained in them (also with
non-ASCII characters) are played fine.
