[Bug 1511797] Re: Hover over video on youtube doesn't show the video controls

2015-11-02 Thread Shane Fagan
Hmmm, weird now it's working maybe it was a corner case I was running
into. I was gaming before doing it and looking at a video heavy site. So
ill close the bug unless I can reproduce it again.

released.

[Bug 1426518] Re: Windowed fullscreen apps left sided corruption

2015-02-27 Thread Shane Fagan
Sounds like it

"Also happens with Google Chrome. If the application starts in maximized
mode, it will render its contents fine, until demaximized and maximized
again."

It definitely is an issue with the newest fglrx driver so he was wrong
with the bit he said about it only affecting the repo version. Also the
clarification has to be made it doesn't happen with every app its just
games in windowed mode (it doesn't have to be maximized just windowed
mode) and very particular maximized apps. So for me I noticed it in
Steam and Google Chrome but like they said on that thread Blender too.
So it should be slightly easier to figure out when you know exactly what
apps are doing it I suppose.

2015-02-27 Thread Shane Fagan
Yeah it might be specific to fglrx. I removed fglrx just there and it
didn't happen with the open source one. So I think its definitely a
corner case.

Here is the video with the entire desktop recorded. Also a little more
context, its only when the app is maximized in windowed mode, it doesn't
happen in any other situation. Its just windowed fullscreen.

Im dragging it to the top of the screen. I just recorded the 1 window
rather than the entire desktop because I had it set to record windowed
games. So yeah its just a regular maximise not f11.

I just checked the scaling and it doesn't matter what happens with the
scaling it still has the corruption. I tested with both smaller and
larger scale and I made sure to fullscreen it again to make sure it did
a redraw.

[Bug 1426518] [NEW] Windowed fullscreen apps left sided corruption

2015-02-27 Thread Shane Fagan
Public bug reported:

This is a bug that I presumed was known but after talking about it on
reddit I went looking and couldn't find a report about it. To reproduce
the bug:

1. Open either Steam, a game or google chrome
2. Open into fullscreen, if the corruption isn't there toggle fullscreen on and
off a few times

You will see a bit of dead space on the left side beside the Unity
sidebar, the corruption is just graphical so all the buttons still are
in their old positions they just look like they are offset. As well as
that all the content of the page or what ever is still in the same
position so its very easy to miss click things obviously.

I made a video of the problem:

[Bug 821419] [NEW] Ubquity crashed during install

2011-08-05 Thread Shane Fagan
Public bug reported:

I cant give any more info really ill attach the logs and hopefully it
will make sense. It crashed near the end of copying files I think. The
installer worked before I had a nvidia card installed but that may not
have anything to do with it. Oh and im trying to install over a current
install of Ubuntu so that may have something to do with it either.

[Bug 771863] [NEW] Message box becomes un-editable if you switch between indicators and back

2011-04-27 Thread Shane Fagan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-me

I was typing in the broadcast box and I got a message in empathy so I
switched between indicators to reply to the message. I went back to the
broadcast box to continue the message and I couldnt edit the box.

To work around it I could use keyboard navigation to get into the box.

[Bug 759595] [NEW] u1ms links dont work if banshee isnt running

2011-04-13 Thread Shane Fagan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: banshee

Ok to reproduce this bug you click on the buy button on any ubuntu one
music link in a browser (I tested it in chrome and firefox) and banshee
opens but on the music page and the song isnt displayed in banshee. If
you click the link again it opens. So its just when banshee isnt already
running. Here is a link to test (sorry it might only work in the UK,
US..etc) https://one.ubuntu.com/music/l/1501818/0 but you can test with
the links from any song.

[Bug 732321] [NEW] Unity crashes on startup

2011-03-09 Thread Shane Fagan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

Unity crashed on startup on my ATI machine I started up in safe mode and
did a unity --reset and got the output attached. Unity did work before
with the open source drivers but I installed flgrx and it failed to
install so I removed it and unity didnt work after that. I dont know if
it was after installing flgrx or updating unity that did the damage
though.

[Bug 692569] [NEW] unity --replace would be nice

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

This was a bug before and was fixed in the update a week ago since now
you can launch unity by just calling it on the command line. Adding a
--replace would just be nice since gnome-panel is called like that and
gnome-shell is called like that.

[Bug 683934] [NEW] Remove the vpn option in the nm-applet

2010-12-01 Thread Shane Fagan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

We had a little discussion on the ayatana mailing list a few months back
(forgive me for not going through the archive and finding the thread)
about the usefulness of having a vpn option in the network manager
applet.

In its place the users should just go edit connections>vpn and edit it
from there. The rational is fairly simple and that is most users dont
have vpn and it only adds an extra click to get to the vpn options
anyway.

[Bug 615300] Re: Set and/or enable default Evolution signature as "Sent from Ubuntu"

Yeah I didnt say that I liked the wording I was just saying if we are

crap and makes us sound desperate for new users.

[Bug 615300] Re: Set and/or enable default Evolution signature as "Sent from Ubuntu"

2010-09-19 Thread Shane Fagan
I dont like the wording but still I can see why we should do it and its
the same reason why we now have the via ubuntu thing on twitter. Its
advertising and its something we really need to work on. Maybe dont say
"sent from ubuntu" say something a little bit less like you are copying
what they did on the iphone or similarly hotmail (they do it a lot worse
than the iphone because its an embedded advertisement about how much
space you can get on hotmail).

I dont have any suggestions on what to say instead but IMO the wording
should be changed or it should be removed because its just wrong at the
moment.

[Bug 626414] [NEW] FPS sub genre in games

2010-08-29 Thread Shane Fagan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: software-center

I was in the software center and i was looking for the FPS games and its
under arcade and I think it should have a genre to itself. They arent
too obvious when browsing the games and they are a recognizable genre in
game. Aside from not really being obvious I think they should have a
spotlight because they are the most graphically appealing games in the
repo.
