[Bug 1937321] Re: System freeze (amdgpu kernel crash on resume from suspend)
The 5.11 kernel locks up when left in suspend mode overnight and Alt/Sysrq REISUB will not be recognized either. I have been able to suspend the laptop by shutting the kid for smaller amounts of time and having the system respond again when the the lid is reopened, 1 to 2 hours. But leaving it suspended for overnight will cause it to hang every time. I have booted the other kernel on the system, 5.8.0-63 and will see if that works. Re: [Bug 1938735] Re: Can't insert a row into a OpenOffice calc file
I sent the file with the initial bug report, but it's 842 rows and 9 columns. I can add a row to the bottom but when I insert a row either before or after in the body of it it crashes when I save it. Actually I can only cut and paste the total at the bottom to make more space for rows, I can't use the insert feature at all. You'll notice in the file that I sent that there is a row at the bottom that's out of order. That was the only way I could add it; cutting and pasting the total several rows down to make more room. Usually it's an empty row. If I run the journalctl command there is a ton of data there I guess because I've been having a freeze problem after I suspend the laptop by shutting the lid (I have reported that bug also bug: #19373210). Do you want me to attach the output to the bug report? I have added it here. [Bug 1283938] Re: [Samsung NP535U4X-S01TH] Ubuntu 14.04 blank screen after wakeup from sleep
I found a quick way to regain the desktop after the hibernation freeze that results in a black screen with mouse pointer only showing. ALT+CTL+F1(mouse pointer disappears, no terminal signon visible). ALT+CTL+F7 and the desktop reappears, of course any active applications are terminated so browser, etc, should be closed prior to closing the laptop lid. Hope that helps some. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1283938 Title: [Samsung NP535U4X-S01TH] Ubuntu 14.04 blank screen after wakeup from sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1283938/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1283938] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 blank screen after wakeup from sleep
I'm using an HP Pavillion i386 with Intel chip set and have the same problem after upgrading to 14.04 from 12.04. My only work around is to use "sudo pm-suspend" every time I close the lid - then the system will come back with having to reboot it. Otherwise I have a block screen with only the cursor showing - I don't know if the system would drop into terminal mode with Alt+ctl+F1 or not. I could test it if it would expedite the fix for this bug.
